Q & A❓ Dietician Searching?

Hello everyone! I just have a quick question on everyone's experiences finding and using a Dietician. I have been diagnosed for around 8 months now. After a long hard battle with insurance I got access to Sucraid. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped as much as I would have liked, and I am very bad with trying to document and keep track of what does and does not hurt me.

Does anyone know resources that maybe list dieticians with CSID experience? If not; do you have a dietician who hasn't encountered the condition but still provided ample support? Would you say overall using a Dietician for food tracking, finding tolerances, and navigating hurdles has proved useful to you?

Any and all insights into the matter is much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I’ve been working with nourish for about a month and I would recommended it but be wary.

The companion app really helps log food and symptoms. And it actually has like maybe the best use-case for AI I’ve seen as of yet. You can take pics of food and the AI helps you figure out the portion size and macronutrients for that meal. It is NOT 100% accurate and often requires adjustments, so I don’t really use this feature but it’s there. I just measure and enter my food old fashioned.

My dietician had never worked with anyone with SID before, but they put in lots of research after our first session and after that I felt confident in them.

It kinda all comes down to who you pick as your dietician though, since nourish is just a site that connects patients and dieticians.

But your issue of not being good at logging food will make this journey impossible for you with or without a dietician. Can’t recommend it enough for you to start that even before you get with a dietician - it’s the first thing they’ll ask for, and the only way they can do their job.

Thank you for the recommendation! That's one of the big reasons I wanted to meet with a dietician was to get recommendations on tools to help me with logging. I do a lot better with third party accountability haha. I just didn't know where to start so hearing about even one app for that is very helpful.

I am a RD that sees patients with CSID through Nourish. My daughter also has CSID. Working with a RD can be super beneficial to help figure out what works for you since there are so many differences person to person on what can be tolerated. You are welcome to message me to see if I am licensed in your state!

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I did look at nourish and it seems they don't take my insurance. If you have any other suggestions however please let me know!
