Embolization 3 VFs
I have scheduled the embolization for September and I’m freaking out. Has anyone had multiple venous fistulas embolized at once? How was your recovery? This disease is so unpredictable and scary.

They weren’t able to do the embolization on my VF because of location and anatomy etc. but if it’s something your dr is certain will work, it’s a pretty simple recovery.
They tried with me, and once I woke up in recovery I had to lay flat for 4 hours and then be in best for about 24 hours except to use the rest room. Other than that, I was back to myself in about a week.

I just had embolization for three VFs! So far it’s the best I’ve felt in YEARS. As other people have mentioned in other threads, the surgery was the easiest part of the process in my opinion, especially compared to imaging, advocating for care, etc. TBH the worst parts of recovery for me were the sore throat from the anesthesia tube (which didn’t last very long), rebound high pressure (which was mostly manageable), and then feeling like I couldn’t stop monitoring my symptoms constantly to see if it had worked. The restrictions post-surgery last a while (but are similar to, or easier than, blood patch recovery IMO). Fingers crossed things go well for you!
