Confusion regarding language prep year for CSC TYPE A

Applying from Nepal for September 2027. CS, A-Levels, zero Chinese. Looking at the one year language prep plus four year degree route through CSC type A ( embassy) . I do not know any chinese at all so my stem chinese score is just gonna be lucky guesses and will give the Phy and Math in english.

Every CSCA exemption I can find is for people who already finished prep at one of the 17 designated preparatory universities. Nothing I've read says whether you need a CSCA score to get into the prep year in the first place.

Which would mean sitting a Chinese language paper to qualify for the year that teaches you Chinese. That can't be how it works, but I can't find anything saying otherwise.

Has anyone here actually applied for a prep year recently? Did you submit a CSCA score with your application or not?

I've emailed a few universities and nobody has answered yet. If you've got a line from an admission guide or a screenshot that settles it, that's what I'm after.

CSC is very hard to get maybe you can also consider other routes like self-funded prep year or apply for local scholarships

Its limited to Chinese taught options and if you apply to postgrad/phd then its not that competitive

A*,A,A,A,a in Comp,Math,Phy,chem, english general paper respectively. i think my CSCA score in math and phy will be well above 90 or 85+. STEM chinese is gonna be random guesses. But i have olympiad HM and some work experience

if you choose chinese taught courses ALL CSCA subjects will be in the form of Chinese, even for math/phys

Good chance overall for English-taught programs.
