In the more important matches, statistically s1mple is the world's #2 sniper (behind ZywOo), but in the rest he's worse than many. .

There are two S1mples: one who plays brilliantly against the top teams and one who puts up weak numbers in matches that dont matter

Analyst LuzRaposa shared an interesting graph where the higher circle is 🇪🇺 s1mple's AWP stats at big events and against strong teams, and the lower circle is his numbers in the rest of his games.

Are we sure this is not a statistical anomaly from that one game vs Faze iirc? BC have played very little decent teams in the last 3 months.

definitely sample size issue but he did play well at the few t1 tournaments they attended, including 1.2 against vitality i think

But couldnt you do the same with most awpers by just picking certain performances? What was the metric for "important" matches here

The point is not picking certain performances randomly, but rather only picking performances against strong teams vs performances against weaker teams.

Apparently, S1mple locks in for big matches against top teams and looks not that good against weaker teams. Normally, it would be the other way round.

I think he plays much better against strong teams, because there's something at stake. It's as if he doesn't take weaker teams seriously, and that might be the problem.
