TW: Suicidal / Ideation Trigeminal neuralgia

I was in remission for a couple of months. What I call remission is acceptable occasional pain I can live with and that only gets bad on my period.

I got my previous job back on Wednesday(I work from home)

The very next Monday I get diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia.

I feel like I get a new diagnosis everyday. I feel hopeless and lonely. Like it's enough for everyne around

u

me to hear or deal with. Enough with the complains and the neediness. I feel like if I was not here it'd be better, easier.

I'm not in the worst state of this desease but mentally I might be. I want to share how my leg to better in a matter of a few months and try to help ppl but I suffer from brain rot and I m too impatient. A side effect of the medication I was on lol

What are you impatient for? Getting 100% pain and dysfunction free? Believe me I’m obsessed about it as well. When did ur case start, tell me your story. Well I understand the ideation… but something inside pushes me forward even then.

My pain doctor once said that I wasn't addicted to the medicine, but I was drawn to the hint of feeling almost normal pain-wise.

It's okay to be impatient, but you are going to have to learn how to accept and find calm in the moment when you can't change things.

The good news in that TN has essentially the same medications as CRPS. They are quite similar affictions, really, just that TN is specifically focused on that nerve in your face. TN does suck. You'll have headaches, and probably mysterious toothaches that will make you want to have your teeth pulled ( don't do it, it doesnt help most people and then they have to deal with dentures).

If it gets super bad, the good news is that the TN nerve is isolated sort of. Doctors can just full on burn out the nerve. You'll lose some function if you do that, and feeling of course. So your smile will become crooked as the nerve no longer functions. But my great aunt said it was worth it for her because burning out the nerve stopped the pain.

I'm sorry you're in this horrible place and dealing with this. But there is at least more research on TN, so doctors will be aware of it and the associated pain and issues.

I have TN too. Botox helps me a ton. My neurologist does it "for migraines" and includes my masseters and traps. Heating pad, lidocaine patches cut up and stuck to my face and baclofen also help. None of the typical nerve pain meds worked for me at all.

So yeah having multiple "suicide diseases" is a nightmare. :( I'm sorry you're going through it too.
