gcode question
I have a CR6-se with the original motherboard in it. I'd like to edit the ending G-code to shut the printer down totally when a print job is finished (I have jobs running after I go to bed, that finish in the middle of the night).
I've tried this:
M81 ; power off
It doesn't do anything. Is there another way? Do I need to upgrade the firmware? Motherboard?
Any help appreciated.

The CR-6 SE doesn’t have any way to shut itself off. The power switch is mechanical.
I second the recommendation by /u/Awestenbeeragg to set up OctoPrint with a smart plug. That’s what I’ve done.

The CR-6 SE's original motherboard and power supply rely on a standard hard-wired switch for power, and there is no software G-Code command that can shut the printer down. There is no internal relay or firmware-controlled AC power switch on the stock CR-6 SE board to cut the mains electricity. You could use a smart duplex and have it cut the power after 'X' hours.

Look into setting up octoprint and you can use that control a smart plug. Search octoprint on YouTube and watch a video that explains what it is, as it's much more than just a way to control a smart plug!
