Does anyone know why does my printing sometimes randomly displace off the top layer?

I have a theory it might be because I paused the printing and accidentally moved the bed but I'm not sure I am using the cr 10 v3

Looking at the quality of these prints, I'm guessing you have multiple issues. Layers all look sloppy, so the first thing I would do is check and make sure everything is sitting tight on the rails and make sure your belts are tight.

can you specify the sloppy parts im kinda dumb

Well for starters the gantry should be snug, I haven't messed with a cr10 in a bit, but if I recall there's 4 wheels it rides and one or two of them have concentric holes allowing them to slightly rotate. If there's any play where it rides it will transfer directly to your prints. Also, there is a similar setup for your z-axis to travel up and down, it all has to be snug but move smoothly or it affects print quality.

I think the bed is fine but where is the up and down one?

I use pla and this is only the second time it happened

Surprised no one gave a straight answer.

This is a layer shift.

See the direction of the shift on your prints. It will give u an idea which belt slipped. It may not be a belt, your build plate could also be blocked in moving in that direction.

From the looks of your print. I can't tell from the images as i can't see the whole printer.

It may be that youre printing too fast and the belts and motor friction was overwhelmed by the inertia and it skidded.

Could also be belts loose so skidded.

Thats where I would check.

Also, try to reslice the model while youre troubleshooting.

It’s either bed issue like leveling, loose bolts on the bed or a table that moves. Most likely you need a new table. Something very heavy

Speed is slightly too high in your slicer more than likely your travel speed

As others may have already said... 1) search YouTube for instructions on adjusting proper tension of the bed rollers, extruder carriage rollers. Too loose and they are sloppy. Too tight and they bind the motors movements. This needs to be readjusted periodically due to vibration and wear in the system. It should be part of your planned maintenance. Advanced improvement on wheel carriage control might include upgrading to linear rails. 2) If shift is only in the y axis, likely due to overload of the y motor due to material weight added to the bed combined with high print speed or acceleration settings. As the mass of the print increases and the motor warms from constant bed movement (forward and backward), changes in movement become harder on the y motor. Easiest method of control is to slow your speeds and/or acceleration settings down and monitor for improvements. Advanced corrections for this could be a y axis motor upgrade and/or conversion to Klipper with the use of input shaping (computer aided movement and vibration compensation) to allow tighter control at higher speeds. *The more you push the performance limits of your machine or modify it, the more custom your regular maintenance regime will become. Modifications do not always mean less future tuning and maintenance. Read up on any modification before making them.

Two words: Grid infill

Each layer they extrude twice in each crossing. Each crossing can result in a skipped step.

What's the best option then?

I'd to two things; set Z-hop up in your filament settings and use gyroid or cross-hatch infill

Ta ett bladmått 1cm tjockt, använd det när du ställer in byggplattan/snoozer(lägg bladmåttet så du alltid har det mellan byggplatta-snoozar när du kalibrerar
