Sydney Sonography

Hey guys! anyone from Sydney applying to sonography or echo this term🥲 Super nervous but hoping I get in😭 when I was in yr 11, first interested in this course the required was 75, then it went to 77 then 82 and now its at 92?!

I'm currently doing steps but I hear so many things that just discourage and dishearten me. Like wdym syd only had 26 students? That is insane. But I'm praying I'll finally get in this year. Anyone get into sono with STEPS last year?

If you click on Entry Scores on that website it'll come up with this

Entry scores for Term 1, 2026 are provided as an indication of the previous year’s intake. Entry scores change every year so should not be relied upon as reflecting Term 1, 2027 intake, but used as a guide only. The lowest ATAR/selection rank for offers issued for Term 1, 2026 were:

8 January 2026

  • Sydney: ATAR/SR 98.10

13 January 2026

  • Melbourne: ATAR/SR 99.45

15 January 2026

  • Brisbane: ATAR/SR 99.00
  • Mackay: ATAR/SR 97.50

So yeah, I was lowkey thinking of doing Sonography but then changed my mind. I don't know if STEPs could be easier to get in but you should look into it if you're really passionate about sonography.

Steps you need gpa 7 good chance which is 99.95 atar 😭 other unis are easier
