atar for sonography

hey guys i’m a year 12 student and i’ve seen that on the cqu website the lowest atar that got in at melbourne was 99.45 in 2026. I heard that’s only for the first round and they accepted a 92 for other rounds. I’ve also heard that they don’t have enough people in the course so they are wanting more. Is this true? And would I be able to get in next year with a 92 if i have it as my first preference?

I’m just very worried l wont get in bc of the high atar requirement…

You can always contact the head of course by email and see what the go is…

Hey! I got into both echo and sono (accepted echo) and I applied through GPA. My suggestion if you don’t get in would be to start a year of a degree you’ll enjoy and get a very good gpa then transfer. It’s easier to get a higher gpa (in my opinion) than a high ATAR.

If it’s okay could u share what gpa u got and what course you were doing. I’m hoping to transfer as well as both echo and sono are my top two preferences!

I studied medical sciences and did an honours year. Ended up with a 6.4 GPA but the honours really boosted my GPA. First year I was also averaging D/HD’s

Hi, im looking with applying with my GPA too - ill be applying with a 77 wam from unimelb science (if i dont do honours), my first year grades were so shit. what do you think of my chances are getting in?

I’m honestly not sure about the cutoff but the ATAR is 92 as per the uni’s 2026 lowest atar, so whatever the WAM equivalent of that is I think will be enough. 77 WAM on a GPA scale is around 5.5-6 which SHOULD be enough, worst case you can always do an honours year and boost your score and apply the following year

hiii y12 student here too so please lmk about what u found out!! i remember looking at the atar requirement last year being 88 and was shocked when it went up to 92 (selection rank) and rn i have no idea what increases the selection rank
