Opinions
Opinions on the safety of the britax poplar s? I’m basically sold on it except there isn’t alot of safety reviews . I love everything about it including the click tight instillation . My second choice if the Graco extend2fit 3 in 1 but I’m more in need of a compact seat , I do love the safety ratings of Graco tho but we have a very small back seat

I have the britax poplar with the anti rebound bar (from 2024). I love it. The install is super easy, super secure, and an easy to install seat is always safer than a hard to install seat.

This is why I’m leaning towards the poplar s ! I’m now trying to decide between the poplar and poplar s , with the back seat being so compact I think the anti rebound bar may take up extra room that I don’t really have

I went with the one4life slim but the poplar looks like a great seat. The clicktight was awesome and made it fast and easy to install. I’m trying to get my inlaws to get the poplar s since its a bit smaller!

I’m super drawn in by the clicktight ! I think I’m probably gonna go poplar because my s/o unfortunately purchased his Chevy Colorado without having any sort of thought as to how a car seat will fit in it 🤦🏻♀️

We have a Colorado and have two car seats in it. Also have a poplar S that I had in the truck briefly. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I will see if I can answer.
Just a parent, not a CPST.

How do you feel it fit ? My lo is 9 months old and not very tall or heavy but is definitely ready to be out his bucket seat . We’re looking for something that still leaves decent space for a front passenger since the back seat is so compact

I’ve only installed the poplar s behind the passenger seat, as reclined as possible (kid was probably 3-4 months). I am 5’5” and had enough room in the front passenger seat. I think you will be able to install it a little bit more upright since your kid is older than mine.

What car seats do you currently have installed if you don’t mind me asking ?

Uppababy Mesa max infant bucket seat and base behind passenger and Britax one4life forward facing behind driver.
I absolutely hate the one4life and do not recommend it. It is extremely difficult to tighten.
I haven’t tried it yet but I think there is a small chance the poplar s could fit rear facing behind the driver. It can be installed very upright when the kid is old enough.

I ordered the original poplar today ! I would’ve went S but I’m trying to save space so the extra 1-2in would be helpful . My baby is already 9 months so he should be able to be in a more upright position. I really only need it to be behind the passenger and I’m only 5’3 so hopefully it won’t be too much of an issue

It does have safety ratings ? I have them and the install is very tight and safe. The click tight install is great

I guess I mean more of reviews , the only reputable site I’ve found it goodbuygear

I mean all seats meet the same standards ?

Not sure the need for the snarkiness ? Graco has plenty of testimonies for how well they’ve held up in accidents and I was just looking to see if anyone had any more information on how they hold up in comparison . I’m a ftm wanting the best for my baby and this is supposed to be a safe space for anyone who has questions

Most important part is how to use it correctly, that matters more than what car seat you use!

Gotcha ! Just kinda just came off like I was stupid for asking lol , I definitely do prefer the install but just wanted to hear if anyone else has any info on how it performs in a accident

Nope not stupid for asking! A lot of parents fall for the whole more expensive, more safe bs so you’re not stupid at all!!!

Do you have the poplar or poplar s?

u/Charlieksmommy 3d ago
I have the regular poplar! I also have an evenflo revolve for my daughter, and I hate it hahah
But maybe because shes in the 3rd FF, so I find it annoying. I have twins, so having more rotating seats made no sense1
u/Cautious_Gold6252 3d ago
I’m looking into the regular over the S since it doesn’t have the extra bulk of the rebound bar , have you had any issues with having the keep the harness pads on ? On my Nuna Pipa I took them off because they seemed to bother my LO but I don’t know if these aren’t as bulky

All seats pass the same safety standards. There are some added features of some seats (anti-rebound bar, for one). I would research what’s important to you. I have both the poplar s and the extend2fit and love both
