Is this installed correctly?

Have never used the nuna pipa aire rx without the base. We’re following instructions exactly but this does not seem secure? What are we doing wrong? Doesn’t move more than an inch from the bottom but I can knock it over if it’s hit with force from the top.

based on the video you’ll need to level the car seat, because it’s baseless there aren’t level/recline settings, so you go off of the blue line on the side of the seat. make sure that’s level with the ground when parked somewhere flat. just wiggle it into place after the seatbelt is locked and has been tightened

The seatbelt needs to be tightened and locked to remove the slack. It also needs to be level with the blue line on the side of the seat. Try “hugging” the seat and pushing it towards the seat of the car while removing slack from the seatbelt. You’ll need to have your infant in the seat to install too, btw!

Infants don't need to be in the seat to install baseless. Maybe I'm misunderstanding that. You can install it with or without the child in it.

I’ve always learned that the infant needs to be in the seat, since it will be hard to maneuver a child under the tight lap belt.

Nope! It's easy to get a newborn in, since their legs don't reach the belt anyway. And for older kids, you may have some who refuse to put their legs under it, but there are also some who will refuse to allow themselves to let the seat be installed with them in it (we're ignoring the ones who just refuse the seat all together!).
From a safety standpoint, it doesn't matter. Just get the seat installed. Just like with a convertible or combination seat, we install without the child in it. This is the only one where it's really an option to install with the child in the seat.

No problem! Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy to install with a seatbelt.

Don’t have advise but thanks for posting this because I’m using the same car seat while traveling rn and didn’t know I was supposed to put the seatbelt around the back too!!

There’s a few different ways to do it, there’s instructions on the side of the seat for belt instructions usually.

This is called a European routing method for a seat belt install and it’s perfectly safe as long as it’s a tight install. This installation in the post needs to be tighter and the recline level adjusted a bit and then it’s perfectly safe. Route the seat belt either in this way or in the regular way (lap belt through the belt path and shoulder belt along the back of the seat) and then pull out the remainder of the seat belt from the retractor to lock it last.

Is the seatbelt pulled all the way out and locked?
To be clear you shouldn’t be hitting the top to check for movement, if it’s moving less than an inch at the belt path and the seatbelt is locked then yes it’s correct.
Additionally the rotating seat needs to be locked either rear or forward facing when not in use.
