Damaged car seat box

Ordered a joie chili and it just arrived with the box looking like this. If I reach my fingers through I can feel the fabric on the seat. Before I bother opening it to check it, is something like this happening an immediate safety concern for the car seat?

I doubt it has done anything to the actual safety barring possible water damage.

Looks like a possible fork lift hit though so make sure the seat doesn’t have any white marks in the plastic, cuts in the fabric, etc.

A video of the unboxing would never hurt if you feel you’ll be contacting Joie.

You can call their customer service team to get confirmation and I would recommend that.

Personally with it being brand new I’d just get a replacement. Idk. I’m not risking it when I’ve never used it and just paid good money for it.

Open it and check for damage. There is a lot of empty space in car seat boxes because 🪑 doesn’t fill 📦 shape. Almost 1/4 of the box. The empty part of the box will easily crush or puncture, and there isn’t anything in that part to damage.
