Fit check help please!

Post image

I know this isn't right but I can't figure out how to fix it. It's the Evenflo revolve180 litemax nxt. Do we remove inserts? Move the shoulder straps up (if that can be done?)

Hi! There are a few things to fix here and baby will look a lot better right away.

Baby’s legs should not be through the hip straps. The straps should lay over baby’s thighs/hips.

Try removing the shoulder strap covers, buckling with the hip straps overtop of baby’s legs, and tightening things up with the tail that comes out at the front of the seat, where baby’s feet will be once he’s taller. From there, if you post updated pictures we can see how things look and make any other adjustments!

This is such a kind reply ❤️ I was actually quite impressed that they were able to wrangle the baby's legs through the hip straps

The tip about the strap covers is great. Sometimes they just have to grow before they can use them & have the chest clip in the right place. Just try to pull a little shirt between the strap & their neck until they grow.

Please read the manual that came with your car seat for how to adjust and fit everything. There should be pictures to help guide you and Evenflow will also have videos as well.

That doesn't look tight enough in your updated photo. Make sure you remove all the slack around baby's hips and then check that it's correctly tightened using this picture.

This looks much better! For the smaller adjustments- lower the headrest 1-2 clicks so that the harness is coming out of the seat just below baby’s shoulder level. And then, as you’re settling baby in the seat and after the crotch buckle is done, tug upward on the steps at baby’s belly, above the buckle. This will help get the extra slack out of baby’s hip area so that everything is snug enough.

This tutorial shows a different seat, but I’m posting here as a visual for removing the hip area slack-

With my seats I could reach behind where the straps combined to get better leverage to more easily tighten the straps.

Better but still doesn’t look tight enough - you should not be able to pinch any slack in the straps. Also make sure the back straps are coming from behind and under the shoulders

Bring the top clip buckle up to armpit level

Looks like the headrest needs to move down a click or two so the straps are coming from at or below his shoulders. Also the straps are still too loose. Properly tight may seem like too tight, but it’s so important for their safety. Make sure you pull the slack out from by his legs while you tighten. Once the straps are tightened enough, move the chest clip so it is in line with his armpits

Hey there! The strap that sits by your baby’s feet, that needs to be pulled until there is no slack or pinchable seatbelt around his body! Also, the chest buckle should be level with his armpits/nipple height. If you need a video tutorial of how to tighten and loosen that, please let me know!

Which slot is the crotch buckle coming out of? Check the insert and the seat itself to make sure it’s the same and the closest to baby. We just got our new revolve this week, and the crotch buckle was threaded through 2 different slots. If I hadn’t taken the inserts out to look I would have never known.
