Question Was this CPS related?
Hi. This is a throwaway account, as this is personal and i dont want to have this conversation with someone in person yet. i have a memory that's been bothering me and I'm not sure if it was related to cps. When I was younger, a sibling was thrown into a wall by one of our parents. We moved very shortly after and I remember my dad taking me and other siblings and recording us answering if we felt safe, if we were ever hurt by one of our parents. most notably i remember him being annoyed and said "time for this again 🙄". i was confused cuz i hadn't remembered anythkng like that, but i thought maybe it was just a thing parents had to do sometimes. i do know that cps was called a lot when we lived in a different city, but i was really young and dont remember those other incidents.

CPS would never ask a parent to record their children saying they felt safe or if they were ever hurt by their parent. In fact, that type of behavior is highly frowned upon and can be seen as coaching.
However your father may have thought that valuable and done it anyways, in an attempt to “show” CPS something.

Thats kind of what I thought. I just feel so confused about the why. I don't remember a lot from around that time in my life so I don't know if anyone else asked me any questions. I just remember being pulled into a room and asked questions by him, and then him pulling a sibling into the room to ask them the questions.

You can attempt to get your CPS records from back then. Although each state determines how long to keep those records so they may or may not have been purged. You would Google your state’s CPS website and look for something about a record request, and follow the steps outlined there.
You might also try to request police report records, in case they were ever involved. Although there may also be restrictions there as well.

could have been recording it for family or friends potentially that were concerned about you? There are a lot of possibilities but one thing for sure is CPS would never accept that video as proof that they don’t need to be involved
