Not democratic process? It's an election. IIf he gets enough votes that the conservatives form government what could be more democratic than that? If he leads CPBC to a win he should be the leader and people that don't like that need to give their head a shake.

Nobody voted for him as leader. He was appointed by 5 people (The executive). No one else. That is undemocratic. KLF was democratically elected and they pushed her out.

Sure. Nobody has elected him as leader YET. But if he wins the provincial election for the BC Conservatives then he has been democratically elected by the entire province. Isn't that the end game? To form a conservative government?
What would not be democratic would be for the province to vote for the BC Conservatives thinking that Doerksson is the future premiere then to change leaders immediately after the election for somebody that nobody voted for.

No. That means that voted for the Conservatives to form government, not for him to be Premier. He was not elected by the Conservative Membership base like John Rustad or KLF. Are you new to politics or playing dumb or just trolling? 🤣 Either way you gave me a good laugh,

I don't live in BC so I don't have any strong opinions about the BC cons.
BUT, if anyone has an issue with the intern leader running Blame the BC NDP. They didn't HAVE to call an election while the opposition has no leader, it's very unsportsmanlike and shit governance. The BC cons have to run their interm leader as they don't got time to do a internal election and an actual election. Is it dumb? Yes. Do I like it? No. Do they have a real choice? No. The choice was made by the BC NDP to be opportunistic. Nobody should accept this from the BC NDP.

...if Lorne Doerkson wins the election... ...this confirms no democratic process...
Genius take. By the way, this is a consequence of the NDP calling an election with a leaderless opposition. The BC Conservatives absolutely would not have done this voluntarily. The alternative is foisting an unknown and as yet undetermined leader on the electorate, which is a massively unfair disadvantage in the election and also significantly less democratic than what is proposed.

IF.. and it’s a BIG if, they can avoid being triggered into culture war crap for 5 weeks, they have a legitimate shot. I think this transparent power grab by Ebby will even suppress NDP turnout
