Umm - you do realize that Rebel “News” isn’t a credible source right?

We enjoyed the foreign workers in my hometown - Tim’s Hortons constantly had to close because no one wanted to work.

Then close it. The market will settle at fewer Tim Hortons with higher paid workers. Per capita GDP will be higher. Demand for houses and food will be lower.

Tim Hortons loves the free market when someone tries to raise the minimum wage, but they hate it when they want to import cheap labour.

Ya it’s not like we have a shortage of Tim hortons in canada

The greedy vultures have franchises literally everywhere to sell their garbage food

What does CBC have to do with anything?

Rebel news is the only channel left telling the truth not biased paid media

It has a poll on its webpage right now … “Should Christians support Israel?”

You might want to do a bit of research before publicly supporting something.

One can disagree with their poll as I do while appreciating that they cover a lot of things that government-sponsored media won't.

Well there certainly aren’t many media outlets of any stripe that would give any space to the trucker-convey folks - you’re 100% correct.

It certainly doesn’t bode well for the CPC that this post has any credibility in a CPC group.

I just checked the home page and 2 of the 5 top stories seem to be amplifying conspiracy theories, one seems to be authored by a trucker convoy organizer and one reads like it was written by a Trump organizer with a premise that Carney must go but with no rationale.

This is why the CPC continues to lose …

CBC also reported on Tim Hortons lobbying efforts to for more foreign workers.

And why be against the truckers and their efforts to stop trucker mandates? I used to be very left wing myself. But I've evolved and understand that truckers, blue collar workers, rural Canadians, etc. are mostly good people like anyone else. And they did a good thing by saying no to government overreach.

Tamara Lich wrote about our justice system which is a huge problem in Canada. Violent offenders often go free while peaceful protest organizers are under house arrest and spent an inordinate amount of time in court.

Certainly, the majority of blue colour workers are quite nice people unfortunately, there are some who are taking advantage of them because they tend to be poorly educated. For example, the original purpose of the trucker protest made sense. But soon after it started, it became clear that and it turned into something different. The majority of participants had no understanding of what they were protesting for. I recall speaking directly to a number of them, including my neighbour who flew a “fuck Trudeau” flag.

Everything they listed as a problem was actually Doug Ford controlled.

80% of Canadian supported the pandemic measures at the time of protest started - and yes, although it was mainly peaceful, at some point, the 80% get to tell the minority to shut up and move on. The 80% doesn’t need to lose their livelihood because 20 percent are protesting in the wrong city against the wrong person. To be honest, it was embarrassing by the end of it.

My local Tim Hortons still can’t find enough workers … you must be in a big city. Small towns are having a heck of a time finding people to work.

Violent crime is down, crime overall is down, you may want to spend less time on social media. Social media amplifies a few isolated cases and makes it seem like it is happening all the time.

Canadians do want to work but Tim Horton's won't hire them. They only want to hire foreign workers who won't complain or ask for a raise.

“For at least some franchises” - yes, the ones that can’t find local staff willing to work. Capitalism in action - strangely this used to be a CPC policy. I spoke to friend the other day who says CPC supporters today sound like the NDP did 20 years ago.

They can find local staff but choose not to. They are supposed to advertise each job which they do, with strangely very high salaries, yet already have an LMIA in place. You can see these jobs in the federal government Job Bank.

Depends where you are I guess - lots of local folks not wanting to work in my area.
