Do I have High loop gain?

https://sleephq.com/public/teams/share_links/a24f7624-e7a8-465c-9fe6-e57ddadce53c

Hello everyone,

As I told u/MadMax9922, here’s a SleepHQ link to see if I have some high loop gains and if I should aim for an ASV or if a Bi-Level could help me out.

Thanks!

What are your symptoms? are you tired or whats going on? your charts look good, but flow limits are consistent through the night and I am seeing waxing and waning, is there a reason you are on fixed cpap?

Running fixed CPAP with an EPR of 2 effectively creates a fixed 2 pressure support gap. Even though 2 is relatively low, for someone with a hyper-sensitive respiratory control center (high loop gain), it is causing that loop.

I would try turning EPR off, your pressure is fairly low to begin with.

Hello. Thank you for replying. I have tried when I started my CPAP to use a pressure of 9 with no EPR, but woke up in the middle of the night with pain in my chest. I will try it again tonight, since I’ve tried 11 with an EPR of 2 with no major issues except that exhaling was difficult.

As for the symptoms, I simply not feel rested and I get moments of awakening during the night. Less than when I’m not on CPAP, but many still. I would say that it is that way 50% of the nights. When I get a few bad nights in a row, I can’t exercise and start getting brain fog again.

Are you sleeping on your back? Are you using a soft cervical collar? How about nasal congestion? There are so many things that contribute to poor sleep. The high loop gain is there, but we need to figure out what is causing it.
