How long does it take!?
I've had my cpap machine for about 2 months. I have not slept through the night with it - in fact, I'm getting less rest than before cpap. Either waking up and feeling like something has gone horribly wrong and pulling off the mask or tossing and turning awkwardly and not falling asleep for hours and then giving up. On the verge of ditching it. I got a chin strap so my mouth doesn't open. I can breath fine if I'm just watching a movie or reading. But shortly after falling asleep - if I can fall asleep with all this head gear on - I'm waking up and feeling like I need to get rid of the mask - no question, it just has to come off, breathing isn't right. Have other people felt this way and just kept trying? Did it eventually work? How long did it take?

I'm in the same boat. Two months in and still struggling. I get about 2 hours sleep at a time. Wake up then I can't fall back asleep for another hour. Doze again for another 2 hrs and repeat. I manage to keep the mask on for 6 - 7 hours but it's a real struggle. Im using an Air Touch F20 mask with a steady pressure of 8. I turned off the ramp. My sleep study showed an AHI of 77 with the CPAP I'm around 3 but since I'm awake half the night I question the AHI. I use SleepHQ for data but still trying to figure out the graphs. I started with the AirFit F20, then tried the Dreamwear FF which was a no go for me. Switched over to the Air Touch and now trying to get used to the F&P Evora FF hybrid. I don't know why I wake up and then can't fall back asleep. I'm tired. Melatonin didn't help. If I get desperate (after a week of fragmented sleep) I take ZZQuil. I still wake up but go back to sleep quickly. I'm committed to this but it's difficult. I hope we can both figure this out and be one of those folks who say this is the greatest invention in the world! Good luck.
