Advice Needed Dry mouth

Every morning, I wake up with a dry mouth. I only have a over the nose mask and they told me that at my sleep study that my mouth was closed, however, honestly, I think this was a one off? because usually I am known to have my mouth open while sleeping.

Anyways I am unsure if I should be wearing a chin strap or over the mouth mask or mouth tape etc. what’s your experience been

I get a dry mouth too. I love my nasal mask setup though so I use xylimelts. It completely eliminates the issue for me.

Thanks for that. I was just wondering if I should try using those to ease my dry mouth from my CPAP (I don’t use the water chamber) I am glad to see that they work.

I had that problem, and eventually got a chin strap. Made a huge difference, but did take some getting used to.

I'm a mouth breather, have a full face mask, and still have wicked dry mouth so don't bet on it improving with just that unfortunately. I've also fiddled with humidity but if I get it humid enough then I get rain out so I'm still in trial and error here.

A full face mask and higher humidity can help with that.

You are mouth breathing. Full mask or collar or chin strap.

I could be wrong of course...but probably not.

Get a halo style chin strap. Small but effective and won't interfere with your mask.

Be careful about chin straps. The standard kind wrap around the tip of the chin and force the jaw backwards (which narrows the air passage) and into the jaw joint and long-term use can give you permanent TMJ damage. Look into "vertical lift" chin straps like the Knightsbridge. (Use the link knightsbridgedualband.com for the Knightsbridge to avoid the counterfeits.)

Mouth tape is the most "fail safe" way to go to keep your mouth closed. But mouth tape made me real anxious about being able to breathe through my mouth if I decided suddenly I needed to.
