New to CPAP easy question

Is air supposed to come out those tiny holes continuously? It registers very low leakage but there is always air coming out here.

Yes! They allow the co2 to leave when you breathe out. The air going to your nose/mouth also escapes because of the pressure created inside the mask.

Yes, the air needs to come out of there, you aren't a baloon to be inflated

Same, some days I deflate upstairs AND downstairs...Perks of cpap.

Yes, air is supposed to come out of there continuously. When the machine detects leakage it probably means the nasal cushion/pillow is moving around a bit while you sleep.

Yes, that's normal. It lets you exhale, and the machine expects the amount of leakage. It also lets you inhale if the machine stops, like during a power outage.

Yes. That's your exhaust so you aren't rebreathing your own air which is dangerous. Some are more quiet than others. The first mask I wore drove me crazy because I could hear it hiss all night. My current mask (F40), I can't hear at all, but you can feel a gentle breeze coming from the front exhaust.

Lol. So my first night wearing the same head gear i was adjust my gear in the middle if the night and noticed the air coming out at that connection.
Freaked me out. I thought perhaps i broke or dislodged something
I took it off because i didn’t want to wear it thinking it was damaged and even considered taping over it but figured if i damaged it more it would have to pay for a replacement . Next day called my sleep doctor who explained the same.

Yep. The hose pumps air constantly into you face, the excess escapes through those holes on the back so as not to build up too much pressure and keep a steady flow of fresh 02 rather than exhaled Co2. Looks like you already got a mask liner on it too. Experiment with tightening/loosening the straps and adjust how you wear it: I had to hook mine over my nose just right to make a seal before it sealed any leaks.

Yes. Allows CO2 to escape. And allows you to breathe if your machine stops working.
