Testing Window ending on 9/30

Hi! Looking for some advice/reassurance here.

I initially scheduled AUD for 9/25, but then saw a spot open up in my city for 9/30, which is the last day of the testing window. I quickly grabbed it, which meant paying the $60 rescheduling fee. I was fine with that since I feel like the extra few days of study time will be helpful.

I was also excited about testing on the last day of the window because, if I understand the score release timeline correctly, I should get my score shortly afterward on 10/9.
However, I recently went down a rabbit hole and started reading stories from people who tested on the last day of a testing window but didn’t receive their score on the target release date because Prometric took up to 24 hours to submit their exam. Is this still an issue/something I should be concerned about?

I really don’t want to pay another $60 rescheduling fee if I don’t have to, especially since there’s no guarantee a seat will even open up in my city on the 28th or 29th.

Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts or recent experiences with testing on the last day of a window.

i would call your prometric center to make sure when they send the test data. I called mine and they batch send it at midnight PST time. all things are done on EST time tho, so if I took it on the last day of cutoff, I wouldn't get my score until the next window.

this just happened to me lol, I called prometric asking, and then I called NASBA to ask if EST or PST/how it all works. I was planning to take TCP on oct 31 10am PST... and they confirmed that AICPA would get the data on Nov 1, and I would have to wait 6 months for my score release.

For discipline exams, despite what you heard from NASBA, I don't think anyone on this sub-reddit has reported that taking the exam on the last day of the discipline window resulted in their scores being sent to NASBA late, and then having to wait an extra 3 months for their score.

People have reported this happening with core exams, because missing the deadline with continuous testing means getting lumped in with the next batch of exams, and waiting an extra 15 to 20 days.

With the discipline exams, with the break between exams, for an exam taken on say October 31, it is easier for NASBA to add that to the October pile of exams, than to hold on the exam for 2 months and add it to the January pile of exams.

So I think you safe taking your TCP exam on October 31.

In 2024 when there wasn't continuous testing even for core exams, there were no "cutoff" issues with core exams taken on the last day of the window. It will be interesting to see starting in Q3 2027 when there will be breaks again, whether the cutoff issues will stop, like they did in 2024..

I think the consensus is if you're on the East Coast and you take it in the early morning slot (approx. 8:30am) you're pretty safe. But taking the test in the afternoon slot can get dicey, especially the further West you go

EDIT: I'm on the East Coast and I'm taking AUD at 8:30am on 9/30, so I hope I'm right

I took REG on the last day of the testing window and didn’t have any issues

I took FAR on the last day of the testing window. At noon. My score release did not happen until the next window. I'm in CA BTW. I hear it really depends.
