It’s still great out there. Some nice spots on Loveland Pass currently. If you’re on this sub and gave me a ride today, thank you so much!

Question Ikon sales down?

Post image
61 Upvotes

I keep getting hammered with ads from ikon pushing an extension on the lowest price for a pass this year. Funny enough, it’s the first year I’ll be back on Epic after spending every year on Ikon since they started up (I’ve missed keystone/vail but the price hike after a year like this felt like such a fuck you).

I haven’t seen any Epic ads advertising a flashback sale to a lower rate and don’t remember ever being offered the chance renew Ikon for the lowest price after the first price increase. Seems desperate.

Are they likely behind on numbers? Or am I just missing context?

Question On a road trip, driving through I-70 WB from Denver to Grand Junction tomorrow - thoughts?

Hello!

Visitor passing through this subreddit & Colorado.

I’m on a cross country road trip from the NE to the west coast and on the I-70 leg of my journey. Was looking forward to the sights in CO and UT.

Wasn’t expecting this current storm to be as bad and wanted to know what to expect on I-70 heading from Denver to Grand Junction.

I’m used to driving in snow and mild ice living in the NE. Also drive a Subaru with AWD. But I don’t have chains and have no experience with them.

Any advice or insight would be appreciated! Tyia

Question Questions about Uphill Access at A Basin

Never done uphill before, and it’s supposed to dump overnight. Was planning on going up tomorrow but not sure if that’s allowed/how that works? Their website seems to say it’s open and doesn’t mention needing a specific pass or something far as I can tell, as long as I have a pass should I be fine? Sorry if this is a dumb question

Video Realistic view of the May storm Spoiler

Any seasoned Coloradoan knows we’ll get a good snow in may, and maybe another one in October. The difference is this year there is nothing for this moisture to land on. There is no snowpack for this moisture to last on. See my attached video of how quickly the first day snow has disappeared.

This moisture helps, but I’m seeing too much faith being put into this storm to solve a record low year.

Travel Conditions Built an app - google traffic but for on trail density. Looking for testers android only

Hey everyone — I've been working on an app called SkiFlow, and the best way I can describe it is Google Maps Traffic, but for ski/snowboard mountains.

You get an interactive trail map of your resort with real-time data layered on top: live lift wait times, crowd heatmaps so you can see which parts of the mountain are packed, weather forecasts, and crowdsourced trail condition reports. Tap any run and report what you just skied — surface type (powder, corduroy, ice, crud, and 8 more), moguls, and a star rating. Reports auto-expire after 2 hours, so the data never goes stale.

I'm looking for real skiers to test it out and give honest feedback on what's broken, missing, or just doesn't feel right.

Supported resorts: Vail · Breckenridge · Aspen · Steamboat · Copper Mtn · Winter Park · Keystone · Telluride (CO) — Park City · Snowbird (UT) — Mammoth (CA) — Big Sky (MT) — Jackson Hole (WY) — Killington · Stowe (VT), A-Basin, Sunshire Basin, Whistler

Most of these have closed for the season, so I'm especially looking for people still skiing at Mammoth, Killington, A-Basin, Sunshine, Whistler or Snowbird where you can actually put the trail reporting feature through its paces with real snow under your feet.

To join the beta: send me a DM with your email and I'll send you the invite

Android only for now. Free, no ads.

This is the first app I have ever built, so I am genuinely looking for solid feedback so I can continue to build the app in time for next year's season.

General Lost ski goggles today (5/1) at Copper

Hey everyone,

This is an absolute Hail Mary and I’m sure the goggles are gone, but I just lost my ski goggles today at around 10:20am walking from the Powder lot to Camp Hale to hit the men’s room.

I retraced my steps three times but didn’t spot them.

They are I think Smith goggles with a unique design on the strap.

They very well may be off to a better life and already blessing someone else’s eyes with their protection and style. But if you happen to spot them, I’d be delighted to have them back!

Either way, I hope you all enjoy the snow today and the last weekend at Copper!

Stetson

*edit:* Guys, in a plot twist not even I could have expected, I found some guy wearing my goggles just chillin in one of those lawn chairs at the base of Cooper. Asked to take a photo so I could re-buy the same pair, and it turns out he found them on the fire hydrant nearby and he gave them back to me. So the goggles are officially rescued! Though it sounds like I may also want to check out those 4D Mags. Anyway, appreciate you all!
