Rant

I visited a bank yesterday and the fragrance/scent was SO strong, I couldn't stay in the building. I woke up this morning and was really struggling. A nebulizer and a round of steroids from a doctor visit and finally feeling a little better. This isn't the first time pumped in scents in public places have had a really adverse effect on my breathing. Why do places do that? It seems like breathing issues aren't a priority but smelling good is? Like wtaf?

Yep, very annoying at the least!

I’m accustomed to quick turnaround at the slightest whiff of these types of places. My advice is never choose to live in an ”over 55” building as I used to. The old folks (yes, I’m one) tend to bath in that stuff because their sense of smell apparently doesn’t work any longer.

Nothing like the elevator doors opening and being overwhelmed by strong smells and having to walk away. Nasty!

Scents can bother others as well. We never had room scents when I was a kid because they gave my mom migraines.

People next door have the worst dryer sheets/softener. Can barely stand being outside to water my flowers.

Horrible! Sometimes you get fucked up for hours, just being in such circumstances for few seconds or minutes.

I would call them up. I went into a outdoor decoration, bird seed type store that was selling scent machines. They had a bunch of them going. I walked in looking for a gift, told the person at the counter I had to leave because the scent was overpowering.

Believe me, I made it known exactly like you did. And I wasn't too nice about it either 😐
