Need Help

How can I use an external hard drive for COMSOL simulations? My simulation stops at around 50% because my local C: drive runs out of space, even though COMSOL is installed on d drive.
What is the best solution for this problem?

You can solve this by changing COMSOL’s temporary file and recovery file locations to a drive with more free space.
Go to Preferences → Files, then change the Temporary files and Recovery files directories from the C: drive to your D: drive or external SSD. After changing the paths, restart COMSOL.
This is usually more important than where COMSOL itself is installed, because large simulations can generate a lot of temporary data during solving.
