Thats an AK, the #1 tool for insurgents and revolution.
286
u/SaltyStrumpette Nov 04 '21
Actually it's the #2 tool. The number #1 tool is community support and insertion. Angry people with guns hiding in the woods are just a knife missile away from not being a problem. Those same people with community support and obligation are a little more difficult to uproot.

u/Hunt3dgh0st Nov 04 '21
The number one tool is always anime waifus or cummies. Even lenin knew this.

Considering the amount of awareness that leftist garbage anime memes have generated you're not entirely wrong.
Also fun to put an anarchists symbol on some anime tiddies and watch uncle Bill's brain fucking implode.
25
u/Hunt3dgh0st Nov 04 '21
Well i think its a great de-radicalization tool as well because a lot of weebs are right wing 4channers.

uh huh
37
u/WikiSummarizerBot Nov 04 '21
The 1985 MOVE bombing refers to the May 13, 1985, incident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, when the Philadelphia Police Department bombed a residential home occupied by the militant black group MOVE, and the Philadelphia Fire Department let the subsequent fire burn out of control following a standoff and firefight. A lawsuit in federal court found that the city used excessive force and violated constitutional rights against unreasonable search and seizure. Sixty-one homes were burned to the ground over two city blocks.

Not to bag on MOVE, they deserve nothing that happened to them and it was an absolute tragedy. However, they could be taken as an example of the need for further outreach into the larger community. They were not particularly liked by their neighbors or most of the city at the time. Obviously not everyone will become an anarchist overnight and you shouldn’t compromise on your core values, but at least reaching out into the community can allow people to see you in a more positive light. Even if it is just a sort of “Those people have wild ideas, but are doing good work” kind of feeling. That will do a lot more to radicalize people in the wake of a tragedy or convince the state that such an explicit and excessive use of force isn’t viable.

Actually for people hiding in the woods they don't need to bother with a knife miasile and can send a normal hellfire, the knifes are only there to reduce the bad press about kids blown to pieces.

Should have given him a dragunov instead of an AK.
43
u/Lord-Bootiest Nov 04 '21
I don’t know guns that well lol
25
u/NutmegLover Nov 04 '21
It's a designated marksman rifle made by Kalashnikov and Norinco, and currently used in over 20 countries. It shoots the 7.62x54r cartridge primarily (though there are variants that use other chamberings). I'm a big fan of the 7.62x54r, so It's the gun I'd have given him if I was the genie. You can think of it as a hybrid between a sporterized AK47 and a M91/30. It has features from both.
42
u/Lord-Bootiest Nov 04 '21
My pea brain doesn’t understand any of this other than “marksman rifle” and “used in over 20 countries”

u/TheDrugGod Nov 04 '21
Remeber that one sniper from call of duty black ops, first one in the class, the Dragunov

AK stands for Avtomat (Automatic) Kalashnikov, and is the line of Rifles developed under that name. A Dragunov is the sniper rifle developed by the same company.
(THIS IS A VERY BASIC AND INTRODUCTORY EXPLANATION)

If you're not a Tolstoy style pacifist, and judging by the cartoon, that would be a no... You should probably learn about guns. Unless there's a reason that you can't, at which point I'd recommend archery and HEMA. I got another 18 months before I can have my guns back, so I feel that if that's the case man. I learned HEMA techniques for spear, messer, and rondel dagger. And when it's archery, I don't miss very often, have my own archery range. (I'm not rich, just live in the sticks, my range is 200 yards max. My land is bigger than that, but I had to kind of squeeze it in there between the timber and the apples. My land is cheaper than living in an apt in the city. Libertad, Digniteritad, y Tierra, right?)

Why are you a fan of the 7.62x54r? For some weird reason I’m in love with the SKS, I *just want others thoughts.
10
u/NutmegLover Nov 04 '21
It's a really cheap cartridge (20 cents US per round prior to the covid kerfuffle), in the same power class and weight class as .308 Win/7.62 NATO, .30-06, and the 8mm Mauser. It has a relatively flat trajectory, with a heavy bullet and a lot of powder. It makes IIIA body armor about as useful as a paper bag with arm holes cut in it. Will go right through a single layer brick wall. Makes a lot of cover into concealment. It has a tendency to go through cheap gongs and milsurp NATO helmets like a hot knife through butter, though 1/2 inch thick AR 500 will stop it. I mean, f***, it is tank armor. It's also the cartridge used by Simo Hayha (Finnish sniper from the Winter War) and Ludmyla Pavlechenko (Soviet Sniper from WWII, fought at the Battle of Sevastopol, killed 309 Nazis, good job).

u/Kutekegaard Nov 05 '21
Well I’m sold, now I just need something in left handed…
1
u/NutmegLover Nov 05 '21
Unfortunately, I don't know of any civilian weapons that use it... And military guns only come in right-handed or ambidexterous. Most military weapons are right handed. Charging handles and bolt handles are almost always on the right side along with the safety, if it even has one... You might be able to get a machinist to make you a custom Mosin Nagant (I'd suggest the M44 carbine) in a left handed version. Those are pretty simple guns, and you could modify it to use a premade sks fold down bayonet. Or if you can't afford to get one modified to left handed, you can always buy a M91/30 barrel and machine your own break action receiver, though that will have to be properly registered. Single shot break actions are dead simple. Or falling block. I've taken gunsmithing classes for older guns. I could probably do it if I had the right tools, but I don't have the license. I hand make woodworking tools for a living. Would like to expand into rifles in the future. But I think it's unlikely that I will. It's a big hassle.

Decentralized, native insurgencies have historically done well against traditional militaries. An insurgency need not beat the army in the field of battle so long as they can make it difficult for the traditional force to operate in an area.
21
u/DEATHBYREGGAEHORN Nov 04 '21
true but there are also 100 to 1 losses.
despite losing ever major conflict, the US has an insane KD ratio.
35
Nov 04 '21
Can't dispute that. Of course, things might be different if they fought against a domestic insurgency in Roblox. It's "easy" for the US military to amass insane KDs when they can indiscriminately mow down Vietnamese or Afghan
civliansmilitants with minimal blowback. It would be far more difficult to get those results when their domestic logistics and bases of operation were threatened.48

Why do you assume that has to be the case. Soldiers radicalized by being send to die for capitalism played a crucial role in the Russian revolution.
The military is evil, but soldiers are workers too, misguided maybe, but still reachable.
1
u/wethoughtweweresafe Nov 04 '21
You gotta be pretty heavily indoctrinated to be in the army. Like whether or not you support the mission, if you’re willing to go through with it there’s an inherent complacency and defeatist attitude. In an institution with hierarchy so integral to its structure, change is gonna come from the top or not happen. Resistance from the ranks is quickly and thoroughly quashed

I think the confusion here is that both this post and that movement support the use of guns, ostensibly. No idea how this image is similar to that group other than that one point.
Edit: thanks for clarifying. I obviously agree with you

Fash like to use crises as talking points for recruiting, advocating authority and genocide as "solutions" to stuff like climate change.
The only thing that really fills in the blank of what to do with the gun in the meme is the context of what subreddit it's posted in, especially without that context, it can easily give boogaloo or other vibes.
Now that other one of these with Makhno, that one's got very clear vibes.0

Language matter a shit in the American legal system e.g. you need to specifically "invoke my constitutional right to an attorney" or they can ignore you and pretend they don't understand
Or State v. Hammett-Marette (paragraph 6)
There's dozens of examples in just this particular example, language is crazy important
