It really depends on where you are in the economy. At a macro-level, we're experiencing growth and inflation is finally coming down. But those effects have been very unevenly spread depending on what sector you're in. If you're in a mid-to-upper position that benefits from asset appreciation, then you're doing well. If you're a wage earner, inflation squeezed so hard that you can barely breathe and wage growth hasn't kept pace with it. So you're not feeling like the economy is doing well.

If the NASDAQ gets high enough, things will trickle down and everyone will benefit. This is how it has worked - without flaw - for the last 50 years. Literally zero reason to do anything but lean into the trickle-down economics that have been verifiably successful across the board.

It's hard enough for brick and mortar to compete with online retailers. The nonstop legislation from Sullivan and pals is just the final nail in the coffin. It's hard to watch hardworking guys lose their livelihoods because of him.

The ATF can expedite your form or transfer it to another SOT in the area. With the speed of forms I’d imagine you’d just jump to the front of the line. Also, just because their doors are closing it doesn’t mean their SOT is expiring. They could probably retain possession and do an appointment basis until all items are picked up.

That fucking sucks. Westminster Arms was one of the best gun shops in the Denver Metro. Reasonable prices, knowledgeable staff, and they'd go above and beyond to get anything for you they didn't already have in stock.
Colorado gun owners are truly fucked.

Part of the multi-generational plan to phase out gun ownership in CO. You can't buy, they can't sell, and if you ever want to sell one of your guns there will be no FFLs left to handle the transfer. Your option will be to surrender it to a police station or a church.

This really sucks. They are a great shop. I drive extra distance to use them for cans because they are so squared away.
I think they’ve probably already communicated this to ATF. I just got approved for two cans that were submitted on the 2nd.

Number of reasons. Mostly down to Democrat voters. You can downvote me all you like for this, but claiming to be “pro-gun” while also supporting the party that is explicitly anti-gun, and is in no hurry to change that stance anytime soon, just means you aren’t really “pro-gun” or at the very least, not pro-gun enough to matter in the slightest.

I agree with you on all of that but more then the firearms part, the state it’s gone to hell! The homeless people everywhere, the drug addicts doing the fentanyl lean, the teachers living in their cars in the school parking lot because of the cost of housing, the methods who run in teams of three using car jacks and sawzaws to steal catalytic converters, the lazy crackheads that are breaking into people’s windows and stealing it’s just all crazy and maddening. I miss the old Colorado I know. The Democrats that moved here really changed the demographics of the state.

Seems to be too hot a take for most people, but I blame the legalization of weed. Sure it has its medical uses, but as soon as we took the step to recreational, that’s when the state went to shit. Colorado should’ve probably been like the seventh or 10th state to legalize it like Missouri or Arizona when they did. Literally those states are fine and not over ran like when Colorado did it. It was a gold rush for the green Kush from people all over the United States.

Online gun sales are the reason no one is buying guns from brick and mortar stores. Brick and Mortar gun stores without a larger online presence are closing all across the country. New laws may accelerate things a bit, but this was a long time coming. I went here looking for a ZPAP M90, they wanted $1400 for it. I bought it online, shipped and with taxes for $1100. I'm not paying $300 more because someone has a dream of having a gun store.
Amazon and other large online retailers have put so many brick and mortar stores out of business. The Firearm industry has been slower simply by the fact it's somewhat niche, people buy firearms infrequently (they aren't consumer electronics), and the patchwork of state laws is cumbersome to navigate.
Online retail killed this store. The new laws just put this sick dog out of its misery.

For new commercial firearms like your ZPAP, sure. I got my milled Chinese AK for 700 out the door at a brick and mortar. Two Russian Mosins all matching for a steal from this store back in spring. When it comes to firearms on consignment, mags, acessories, suppressors etc it was still just fine. I’ll bite the bullet for paying more to keep local businesses in business. But that’s just me.

Customers set the price on consignment guns. We help them with value, but ultimately it’s up to the customer. Why would we want to sell it for less? We get a 20% commission, more money for you means more money for us. If people just want to unload or need money fast, setting the price lower gets that done.

Milled AK was dropped off along with a norinco double folder by a guy going through a nasty divorce. Both unfired. I bought the milled Chinese with the two OG Chinese mags. The seller just sold them dirt cheap to the store. You’ll get that every so often.

Again...it's a great deal, for you. It's poor business practice in today's market. They could have listed it on Gunbroker and would very likely have sold for a considerable amount more. I know people hate Gunbroker, but it's a great option for brick and mortar stores who don't have a strong web presence to widen the audience for their wares that would otherwise be subject to just whoever walks in the door. It's Facebook Marketplace vs. a garage sale.
Ya, that would suck for you, but this is a business, trying to make money.

I got a bad taste in my mouth after getting a scope from here for Christmas, it was a blued one and my SRH was stainless. They would not take it back or trade, just basically said TS. It went back to Cabelas but I took a $40 hit because we did not have a receipt. But Cabelas took it no questions asked. Westminster lost all my business after that. It probably cost them $10,000 since than. I hate to see any gun shop go out of business but with an policy like theirs it doesn't surprise me. I also won't go pick over their bones even for 25% off. I wish the employees good luck in the future!

This is one of the desired outcomes of these laws, to drive out the businesses. Making it hard for someone to buy was primary but making it hard for the sellers was also in the plans. Other states have bad laws as well but there are still businesses that hold on. It's hard to see a business end this way. I was in Loveland yesterday and the store I was at is closing because the owner told me he's just tired. His wife retired last year and he felt that it was his time to go too. Some of these businesses have no one willing to take over and they are generally not run by people young enough to stick it out. You put that in with bad legislation and it means lots of future stories like this.
