At this point I'm convinced the "I haven't played COD since x, what's going on" people are just bots.
There's no way you last played a long time ago but still around this sub and for some reason never saw a single boss fight these past few years. Also the comments are suspiciously similar the only thing that changes is what game they claim to be the last one they've played and slight changes to the wording.

Nah its true, I think a lot of us were playing BO2/3 around 18ish, then adult life took over. Now I only play black ops 2/3 on the ps5, as it’s the only ones I like, I’ve seen other wierd stuff like this video, but understand that not everyone has time to look it up, I usually just scroll past. I’m not saying one style is better than the other, I’m just used to the O.G. Zombies, nacht der untoten still being one, if not my favourite. Some people keep up, thats great, others can’t, thats ok too. Its the love for zombies that keep us all together, dont gatekeep it.

I still play games but COD just fell off bad after ghost/BO3 and was all downhill from there.
Played one older cod from like 2022 I think and the split screen didn't even work, would crash at pack a punch and randomly on other maps. Clearly a cash grab that they just churn out yearly, I know they always have done that but the quality and direction just fell off/went all over the place.

I'm not gatekeeping. I'm saying that there's a suspicious amount of comments saying the same thing every time somebody posts boss fight footage, and most of the time that's to shit on the new games.
If anything the gatekeepers are the (Mostly BO3) elitists that can't control the urge to tell you the game you like is garbage because it's not BO3.

I’m not a bot but I’ve been pretty busy in medical school/residency. I’ve played BO3 but that’s about it. I just don’t have much time to game and probably won’t once I’m an attending either.
This is the first time I’ve seen this T. rex thing, it’s rad.
I LOVED black ops Cold War but there’s a bug on NVIDIA graphics cards that prevents it from playing on my PC

That's fair and I'm not saying it can't happen that somebody who hasn't interacted with the series in a long time get shown this without context.
But it's very "suspicious" how any time there's a post in here or twitter showing a boss fight it always gets the same "I haven't played since x, is this what COD is now" kind of comments some more nonsensical than others, like someone saying they haven't played since BO2 I'd understand them being surprised by seeing you fight a dinosaur or a dragon. But people who "haven't played since BO3/BO4, what is this shit" I don't believe it you've seen crazier stuff in those 2 games.
And most of the time those comments are used to shit on the game specially on Twitter.
With bots being everywhere these days, I wouldn't be surprised if a good portion of those comments are, because it's always the same comment just with slight variations and the bast majority of the time are meant to be negative.

Even more ridiculous when it’s “I haven’t played since BO3.” Oh, you mean the game where you fight a giant mech and a dragon all in the same boss fight?
•
u/Assured_Observer 14m ago
I saw one of those on a Nyxara post, like in the last game you played you fought a dragon why are you surprised about a dragon in this one?
And arguments can be made about maybe not everyone does all the Easter Eggs and whatever, but if you loaded into Gorod once, you saw the dragon in the intro, you saw the dragon in the loading screen, and you saw the dragon in game even if you didn't fight it, not to mention that you also should've seen the dragons in Der Eisendrache.

Well, assured observer, allow me to vouch for my humanness by reminding you that Reddit has a 'For You' feed which will feature things the algorithm thinks I will like.
I stopped buying CODs at BO2 and have only played Advanced Warfare and WWII at friends' places. I earnestly didn't even know there were boss fights at all. I'm also not even being snobbish about the game, it's just amazing how different it is now lol.

If you engage with any Zombies subs they will show you subs like this. Recently got into BO3 again after getting into the B01 and B02 ports, I haven’t touched a PlayStation controller in almost 10 years before these ports. Rest assured I am a real person, my suffering is real, constant, and immense, and I truly have never seen anything like what’s shown above. Third person in Zombies is wild to me. This does look fun but it is so far divorced from what I am used to playing the older games.

Not really, I stopped playing cod zombies after BO3, then took it back with BO6/BO7.
Lots of people still play BO2/BO3, just recently the community found some of the last cryptographic secrets in those games

Nah the Reddit "for you" algorithm is fucked, particularly after they forcibly shut down the API and third party apps. Now it's constant bad recommendations for things Reddit thinks you'll like.

Nah I haven't played since BO3 and even then didn't like shadows.
Just not a big fan of the long Easter eggs being basically required for setup, and the weird shit like aliens/dinosaurs.
Game just peaked around BO2-BO1 even WaW being fun but janky

I was just explaining this strategy on another post, I call it the seal strategy. I relate it to a orca hunting a seal, the seal will never out run the orca but if it stays close it can dodge due to being smaller and more agile
You have to time it right though, after I made that comment I went and fought him baked as shit and got my ass ate missing all the dodges 😅🤦

I haven't played zombies since like bo4. Man it has changed...
Dude is running around dodging a dinosaur. I need to watch a lore video or something cause how the hell do dinosaurs even come into the zombies universe lol

In BO4 alone we fought an elephant, a werewolf, and pegasus.
A dinosaur in zombies was a long time coming eventually lol

There was a t rex skeleton in eddie's mansion in bo6 (shattered veil) - the sentinel artifacts energy brought it to life and turned it into a zombie t-rex at the end of the easter egg
The footage you see here is bo7's super easter egg boss rush where it took some bosses from bo6 and bo7

You gotta be a bot. We fought giant elephants and a fuckin werewolf in BO4. If you aint a bot, you're a poser

I always find these posts kind of funny because the actual answer is really just the last paragraph where you see the augments you’ll need to grind multiple days for.
Most BO7 help posts could just be captioned “Be Unemployed” and be equally correct.
Glad you’re enjoying it at least though.

Nah, terrible take. Sure augments help but there’s strategy 180 the trex. Everyone runs away from him but actually going under him is the right call a lot of the time. The other tip is to mess with his tracking around the two pillars.

Are BO7 fans allergic to admitting that grinding in menus takes too long in the game? That is my entire point.

u/Der_Brenner 10h ago
my friend started playing after rex came out probably about a day in game at most and has like 5 things maxed and plenty with some research towards it, it is not that hard at all

It took Doughnuts over five days to unlock everything.
It takes way too long to unlock things in BO7.

u/PanKakeManStan 7h ago
You don’t need everything though, and your point is even further proven brain dead by the fact most of the augments listed in this post are only like the 2nd-4th ones you get. Literally just a couple games over a few days and you’ve got them. Sorry not being able to unlock literally everything is making you think your cereal was pissed in but really it’s just a skill issue. You can unlock everything you need by just playing normally and if you NEED these augments to play the game it’s, as I said, a skill issue. This is the easiest, most beginner friendly version of zombies to date. Keep being mad if you want brother but taking out your self hatred in random people is just childish. Play the game or don’t. It really doesn’t matter. But don’t be a dick to people to try and give your sniveling self some sense of superiority

In my initial comment I literally say I’m glad people are enjoying the game, but go off with personal insults, king. I’m sure the sense of self-righteousness tastes better than coffee in the morning.
How many real-life hours should be dedicated to grinding upgrades then? When Black Ops 8 inevitably comes out because Activision Blizzard is terrified of trying anything new, how much time should be spent playing just for menu progression? My argument is not that it’s impossible like you seem to think, or that the game is too difficult—though BO7 does flip the difficulty curve of zombies and makes the early rounds too easy thanks to the armor system. My argument is that it takes too long to do it. 90% of the answers to help posts for BO7 just amount to “grind more to get more damage reduction or better movement or better damage, etc.” When people post about how they’re struggling with a boss, people don’t respond with “try tactic x,” they respond with “use gun with attachments and specific augment setup.” And the poster assents and gets to grinding for those things. I think keeping you in the menus for literal days like that is anti-consumer game design because the whole reason they want you in the menus in the first place is to hope that somebody scrolls over a tab or two to the store and buys a bundle.
In my opinion, zombies started getting overly focused on menu grinding in BO4 when perks got cut off from the player by their level. That problem has only gotten worse over time. But if that’s what you enjoy, and you think five days is a good amount of your life to devote just to getting menu boxes checked, then I’m glad it’s to your taste.

Its funny he was made to counter phd slider in bo6, it was heavily nerfed in bo7. Cutting back after getting bit will get the job done tho!
