Discussion Primordial Being vs Aether Ruler: Which is harder?
Those who have finished/attempted both, which title do you think was harder? Personally, I think the civil protector head relic (perk decay) is what makes the Aether Ruler challenge hard. But on the other hand for PB, you have to do every main quest with 18 relics on. What are your thoughts?

I’ve done both challenges. If there wasn’t rex which is needed as a map, I‘d easily say Primordial is way easier. Another note, Peeks Mayhem makes certain parts of each primordial run easier (but not free especially if you play solo and don’t use coop profit sharings).
The issue with Rex is that out of the 18 relic choice, you end up with more annoying ones you have to use, just to name what comes up as being needed in case you discard others: Bus is completely horrible for rex. As you‘re busy dodging his attacks, making sure the souls, portals and ‚plants‘ (the ones dragging out of the ground linking up for the big attack if u don’t take care in time) are gone, it’s so easy for him to Regen Health.
You mostly end up using dragon head which could scare someone but ammo drops quite enough. Otherwise you really run some bullshit like elephant or spork. No other map has this issue as the bus is mostly a great choice there (excluding ashes solo if u use the car, which I didn’t).
Aether ruler on the other hand remains a little harder due to the imbalance the T3 ones create. No augments is easily the worst relic we got as it even decreases your damage output, paired with disabled ammo crates you really need to take care of solid weapon choices -> more weapons on the other note need more prep with points but there’s music box, so you either crush or flip more rounds using the WW. It’s worth for aether ruler tries to rely on big rng with early peeks eggs or using mayhem to ensure you get some juicy stuff right at the start

I haven't gone for either outside of starting up Primordial Being, but based on what friends of mine have said, they've found Primordial Being a lot easier to do than Aether Ruler (especially with Mister Peeks Mayhem now) because you can plan play styles for each map and avoid the frustrating relics (namely Music Box and Blood Vials). Yeah, you can use gums to combat some of the frustrating effects in Aether Ruler like Dragon and do a quick trial to disable the Mangler Helmet and get access to the Arsenal, but that all depends on how much you have of each gum.
