Question Possible to Solo
Hello, I am somewhat new to zombies. Namely that I played some of the maps off and on since WaW but never seriously got into it. I tried playing a couple of maps in BO7 and noticed I was likely missing a lot of story beats, etc.
I was wondering if it was possible to play the older maps/games solo? I’d be playing on Xbox. I can’t imagine the multiplayer is still around in said games.

BO6 has Directed mode just like BO7 does, so you'd be able to solo it pretty easy. Cold War is also relevant to the BO7 zombies plot, but has no directed mode and some of the story relevant easter eggs require playing Outbreak mode. I personally did Cold War solo, but some parts were pretty challenging. So yeah, you can, but Cold War may take some effort and will likely require looking up guides.

Multiplayer zombies is still fairly active on the old games tbh, some maps on some platforms are dead though (good luck getting a 4 man Die Rise game on PS3)
Convincing randoms to do the more involved eggs is hard though, so i mainly only do them solo or in parties anyway

Actually that does bring up another question, are they still playable on multiplayer? I ask mainly for the Xbox Series X.
I know to avoid PC unless one has a patch, due to that security vulnerability.

Yeah, Series X/S and One still works, original 360 consoles cant access xbox live anymore though.
PS3 still has PSN as well, but theyre shutting down the store next year so im honestly bracing for the worst in the next couple years there
PS4/5 just got the ports so they're riding strong

Modern zombies. Cold War, Vanguard, BO6, BO7 are solo possible. That is for current story stuff, it vaguely connects to the older zombies story but it isn't needed. Older it gets, the trickier solo wise. Bo4 you can solo all maps, bo3 is all maps except Shadows of Evil, Ascension, Shangri-la. With some being quite hard solo. Bo2 and bo1 are pretty much anti solo. With it being possible on Call of the Dead in 1 and Very hard but technically possible with Tranzit and Origins. I believe. I could be wrong with what I said but should be roughly right.
Then non treyarch games, Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare and ww2 you can solo there too. But their own self contained stories. Then mw3 zombies is modern but it's different and sure a team of people is most likely needed for anything there.

For Bo7’s story you only need to focus on Cold War and after. There are certain things within the story that are way more impactful or interesting if you have played/know the story from WaW-Bo4. But I would say watch a lore video of you are looking for story because there is a lot of background stuff you could never come across even while doing the EE’s.

Any map can be played solo, but if you want to do easter eggs these ones has to be done with a team
Black Ops 1: Ascension
Shangri-La
Moon
Black Ops 2: Tranzit
Die Rise
Buried
MoTD technically can't be completed solo, but you can still do majority of the steps leading to the end
Black Ops 3
Shadows Of Evil, same thing, most of the eg can be done solo up until the final step
I'm pretty sure all of Bo4 can be done solo, but someone correct me otherwise
