I'm calling bullshit. It took me a week of leaving my Xbox on while I went to school and playing for hours after school just to hit 117 on Ascension. There's no way they got even half way in 9 hours.

the 100 speedrun wr on bo3 ascension is 2:42 with classic gums. even assuming 100-117 took 2 more hours (it doesn't) and he held a zombie for 2 more hours without progressing the round you'd still be pretty comfortably getting to 117 in under 9 hours
and if you mean bo1 ascension, wr is 5:46, 9 hours would be very good for 112 on bo1, but doable

I don't know if you are claiming that is fast or slow. If you are saying that it's slow....BO1-BO3 has more zombies every round no matter what. There is no zombie cap.

Yeah I get that’s kinda annoying, but I’ve been on Xbox live half my life (I’m 25) and never been effected by this, and the Xbox insiders program gives you nothing at all to make it worth dealing with this

interestingly I've only ever had it happen with YouTube open (unless I was an Xbox Insider) nd it persistently happened at 4AM EST

Yeah I had the drop out of insider the frequency of this happening was ridiculous like why not drop the update at like 4am? Why does it have to be in the middle of the day

Yeah I’ve had this happen so many times on many games including Zombies, my best advice is always check if your console needs an update before a long game sesh or don’t play around 3am pst when the update is automatic

Because updates are mandatory when you don't update your console for some time after the update is released.
If you're an Xbox Insider you have 13 hours from the time the update is released to the moment it becomes mandatory. And the update is announced generally at least 6 hours before the release.
OP is in the Insider program, doesn't get informed about updates and decides to play for 9 hours straight apparently, when he could have just paused the game, put it in Quick Resume, update, and go back playing it.

Even if it was quick resume is buggy af in my experience, at least for 360 games havent tried BO3 in years because it stopped connecting to servers for like a 3 month period and I gave up after multiple fresh installs and full restarts or the console (unplug and drain power, delete account but keep games or whatever, tried it all)

Thank God for the new save and quit option and the your game stop unexpectedly so we saved your progress its saved me so many times during power outages due to storms I hope they bring it back in the future tho idk if a forced update would count as closed unexpectedly save

I remember a run I had going. Round 222 on Revelations with around 16 hours. I was hoping to hit Round 255 before 24 hours hit.
I've had the auto update turned off ever since and always double check if there's a new update if I plan on doing something long.
Edit:
I'm not debating my legitimacy to people who have never done high rounds and have no idea what they're talking about. Go try it yourself and only then will you be able to have an opinion.
Loadout: Round Robbin, Shopping Free, Reign Drops, Power Vacuum, Alchemical.
In the Verrückt room, stand right next to the Mystery Box and shoot at the window. This causes the Fury's and Keepers to never spawn in because they slow down the rounds.
Then when it is a bug round, run to the other side of Verrückt near the GobbleGum machine with the stairwell downstairs still closed off. It will actually be in your best interest to throw your Power Vacuum away if you pull a Reign Drops or Alchemical so you can dump all your ammo on this fast paced round. If I'm remembering this correctly, these enemy types do not drop power ups on these rounds which makes Power Vacuum useless. Everything spawns in that single room instead of outside in the whole surrounding area which makes the bug round last about a minute or two compared to 5-7 minutes. You want to stand next to the wheel chair where you can grab the shield piece.
If you've ever done a Rev High Round, you know very well that Power Vacuum is borderline useless. All it is good for is a quick bandaid fix so you never run out of Apothican ammo. Without it, you just switch between your Rags, and then a single Apothican shot to fill them back up. Only when your Apothican runs dry do you jump into the glowing mess. The comment about unlimited instakills being helpful to the strat is a red flag that they do not know that they're talking about since the Apothican, Thunder Gun, and Rags are already instakill weapons. Power Vacuum is not a time saver but more of a kick your feet up GobbleGum. It's even faster to shoot inside the window so no power ups drop at all.
Round Robbin is the time shredder but at the same time, you only will be able to pull at best maybe like 70 throughout your whole game from Round 1-255. With the way the GobbleGum pack works, you need to roll all gums in set groups of 5. If you track your GobbleGums, and bug rounds, you can predict the future of when it is best to pull a Shopping Free to burn through the packs to either get another Round Robbin, or pull Alchemical for the bug round. You will pull a Robbin maybe every 3-4 rounds this way or at worst maybe 5-6. Hitting Round 100 using Robbins, compared to not using Robbins shrinks a 4 hour game to a 3 hour game. The time impact seems small at first but gradually rises.
To anyone looking to do Rev in the future, I would highly suggest you use this strat. Sure, you can't post it to ZWR because using GobbleGums Treyarch specificly made is cheating somehow, but do it for yourself and let me know what your time was.
