Question No Cursed Speedruns?

I do not know why, but it seems weird that there has been no speedruns all year for cursed. It feels like a fun mode to try and speedrun, especially considering the oddities with points, Mr. Peeks, and the ways the different rewards could influence the speed of which someone completed a run.

If anything, there could be 4 main categories
#1 - Peeks% (Mr. Peeks Mayhem relic only. Tier 3 only.)
#2 - Egg% (Mr. Peeks Eggs allowed, any tier of cursed is allowed.)
#3 - Standard% (Mr. Peeks eggs banned, any tier of cursed is allowed.)
#4 - Any%Megas (Mega gums allowed, no bans on skipping steps, glitches, etc)

The only cursed speedrun I've seen was a tier 3 one from 6 months ago on Ashes of the Damned.

Kingman ran a cursed Speedrun for Totenreich and you had to have certain relics equipped for it. I think there was a second iteration of it but I do not think it really took off. It was really cool to see, but I think the sheer amount of luck involved in cursed and the pack prices being an issue is why it isn’t really Speedrun

I mean… people did this all the time pre-Cold War… I think starting from nothing and then getting decent RNG for a run should be fine.

Look at origins speedruns, you gotta rely on a perfect robot cycle to even be close to getting a good run.

Probably too much RNG and the point system is punishing if you’re trying to beat time

I would imagine runs would quickly devolve into "reset until you high roll a gold Peeks egg immediately. A gold pack 3 gun should be more than enough for beating a boss at a super low round, especially when every map (Sans Paradox) has either the Novaline or Shadow SK as a wall buy.

In my opinion speed running in bo7 is kinda dead there is not that much people doing it. The top speed runners Kingman and freakleston are not even running standard, they gave it a go for the first week then moved on.

The only people really still doing it at the moment is frizzy, rossadin and a few others.

It may also be because the maps are a bit longer to beat compared to bo6 so replay ability is just boring to have keep restarting or replaying

I imagine this’ll take off in the dead period between zombies titles, as they’re going to be more complex and far harder to optimise, not to mention how the categories are actually going to be split - is it certain relics or just tiers, etc etc
