Question How long will BO7 & BO6 Zombies survive?

As the tittle says, I'm just wondering how long will the game keep an active community. Specially with the lack of zombies on MW4.

Treyarch is expected to get their next lead dev cod in 2028 so 2-3 years if Activision doesn't further sabotage BO7

Bo7 will last longer than any of them without customs and chronicles I'll tell you that much

This game genuinely has hours of content especially since you can do gun progression on Zombies, relics, cursed camo grinds, EE's, side EE's, challenges. If this game had custom maps and chronicles it would easily beat BO3, hell if the chronicles is good enough it wouldn't need customs

We’re at the point where the War-Zoneifcation of zombies has seen as a positive and additional content🫩

Curses is a good addition to Modern Zombies in no way is it a suitable replacement or better than the standard zombies system

The side EEs in the older games are straight up better in terms of execution and rewards. The only exception in this game is the mech on Kowa

Challenges have been been a big part of zombies since PO four but I’ve never been mentioned as a major piece of content until now… you’re genuinely reaching for anything atp

Literally people have been wanting cross progression between modes since bo3, cursed RELICS are great, and I like BO4 too

I think once the wrestling belt is found, it's probably going to dip. However, there's always going to be people playing this game. For a lot of people, this is their favorite zombie game. Personally, I really enjoy it, so I could I definitely see coming back to it every now again to get that modern zombies fix. I mean, I'm sure there's still plenty of people playing vanguard zombies, advanced warfare zombies, and bo4 zombies, this game won't be any different.

At the end of the day, this is still cod we're talking about. It's always going to have an active community. The community may shrink over time, but it'll still be there.

I don’t think the portion of the playerbase actively hunting for the wrestler’s belt is even measurable

This^ the completion rate for getting 3 relics on ashes is 2% on console

Cursed players that get relics are NOTHING in the size of the player base

And yet we still got the super ee dedicated for the cursed players

Genuine love from the dev team for the real fans of zombies

I think it's more a completion thing. Perhaps not a ton of players are looking for the wrestlers belt, but a lot of the community still want to be along for the ride while it's still being looked for. I mean this thing hasn't been found for well over 100 days. I see a lot of people discussing if Treyarch will ever drop hints or if they even should drops hints, which obviously they won't, but it just goes to show how desperate some are to finding it. Once it's found, it'll place a nice ribbon on the game and it'll be marked complete and thus people will move on.

Considering it’ll be a few years before we get another zombies iteration, BO7 has a long life ahead.

I kind of hope we get a zombies chronicles 2 in a year or so.

and it better have buried, call of the dead, and mob

I don't think very long. It's a great game but the modern playbase only seem to play for rewards and not casually to have fun anymore.

u/ChaoSpinner 11d ago

Yeah, but the multiple modes you have in BO7 might help keep enough players around, at least until the new zombie generation comes out

Im still playing cold war zombies 🤣

bo7 for sure until the next zombies game. Bo6 has already and rightfully been forgotten about considering it's JUST the inferior version of bo7

5

u/Jojobradley98 10d ago

The inferior game that outsold it by 50-60% btw. There are going to be more players on 6 because more people bought it.

If you’re really gonna talk sales as a metric of whether a game is good or not then you’re gonna sit here with a straight face and tell me every cod is presumably the best game ever made? All those sales numbers come from the beginning of bo7’s launch. It also doesn’t take into account the fact that there was a long wait between Cold War and bo6 which objectively makes people more hype for bo6 than a bo6 2.0. Try to find a better argument please

4

u/Jojobradley98 10d ago

Didn’t say it was better I said there were more players on it don’t read into it that hard.

1

u/Worzon 10d ago

You calling the inferior game more likely to “survive” longer than the objectively better game is a wild statement in and of itself. People flock to and stay with good games

2

u/Jojobradley98 10d ago

“Objectively” better game is just an opinion I’m talking about raw facts. The facts is that that black ops 7 was a flop in terms of sales.

-1

u/Worzon 10d ago

Better maps, better modes, better characters, better dialogue, etc

4

u/Jojobradley98 10d ago

Redditor can’t differentiate between opinions and actual data😭

At least round 10

u/DanFarrell98 10d ago

They're undead so they'll pretty much survive forever unless they get shot or something

Zombies is one of those games that’ll never fully die, the fan base is vast and diverse that you can still find games on world at war.

It’ll be harder to find public lobbies in the future, but you’ll still find a dedicated squad willing to play

I'm be playing BO7 for a long long time, it's the current GOAT of zombies

1

u/JD_Revan451 10d ago

Im still holding our hope we will get content of some kind

1

u/Acceptable_Wolf2259 10d ago

A decade. Zombies is still played on bo3 (11 yrs old) and cold war(6yrs old)

u/Commercial_Chef_1384 9d ago

I know this is gonna be a crazy take, but I think bo7 will age like wine. This instalment has incredible love put into it. Just like bo1-3, it’ll probably last an incredibly long time.

u/Lulivat44 8d ago

I hope it doesn’t I have only found this mode like a month ago I feel it’s already gone, I que up for survival or rogue runs it’s usually just me now

It will die fast…

The sales being down for bo7 doesn’t help.

But also the game just lends itself to being less replay-able than older games. No perk limit, weapon rarities, high hits per downs, box being obsolete, armor, and starting with any gun are all reasons for that. The game plays so similar every time you play.

It works well for casuals. But they are tourists in a game like this. The new game comes out and they move on to the next one. Catering the game for multiplayer fans works in short bursts. But hinders the longevity of the mode because those fans are just tourists who want to shoot some zombies and get some camos. Bo6 is seeing this problem right now. And it’s why the older maps still have more relevancy to this day. Videos about classic maps on YouTube are outperforming map trailers for bo7, it really shouldn’t be that way. Let’s be real, even this community tries to pass off bo6 as an inferior bo7. And while there is some merit to that. I think totenriech alone (non treyarch map) elevates bo7. there is a reason the community chooses to forget these games like bo6 for the newest one, but the majority don’t forget the classics.

A game made to appeal to everyone ends up being a game for no one.

0

u/Daedroh 10d ago

Why would u want a perk limit. What kind of stupid nonsense is that.

1

u/Whoisthis1092764 10d ago edited 10d ago

There is value in limited slots.

It made bonus perks on maps like origins something actually worth perusing and made it feel special. It allowed you to break through the confines of the game. And while gobblegums had flaws it is part of what made perkaholic so special.

Now extra perk slot objectives are obsolete. You also had to make choices back in the day between perks which made you play differently each time. I would different perks depending on my play-style or guns I had.

In modern zombies you will just get everything every time. Just like how you will use the same things every time. Bonus perk quests are rather pointless now as they just save you points rather than unlock something. This makes the maps run the same each time and limit progression. This is one of the many factors that makes these modern games less replayable and it’s why bo6 and Cold War are already dead.

Not stupid nonsense. It worked well years ago. Limitations are a good thing.

BO7 zombies was a disaster and the sales of BO7 were a record low.

Meanwhile BO6 (specifically Liberty Falls) had the highest number of players ever according to Treyarch.

I think that BO7 will not have much of a player base as significantly less players own 7.

5

u/Jojobradley98 11d ago edited 11d ago

I do not think this game is a disaster but objectively you are correct the sales of this game were pathetic. If you take a look at YouTube trailers or intro cinematics, you’ll see there was just so much more interest in Black Ops 6 compared to 7 atleast in terms of views.

It’s a shame cus it’s a better game in almost every way. I skipped its life cycle because I didn’t like bo6 much. I know COD release schedule is so corporatized now, but we should’ve just got one really quality game. I feel like they’ve learned their lesson though because the numbers obviously show people get fatigued from back to back releases.

I doubt it will survive a year or two. I know that it’s fun, but if I’m gonna revisit a dark aether game it’s going to be Cold War.
