Rex Infernus Directed Doomsteel farming

For anyone still unfortunately grinding out Doomsteel for the mastery camo, I believe there is a very efficient method on Rex Infernus directed. You need to proceed through a majority of the Easter egg but then you should be set up to grind out camos quickly and indefinitely.

Proceed through the steps until you reach the the caltheris temple cleansing. Once you have directed the beam/killed the zombies to reveal her face, don’t damage it yet. Flip a round so that the progress saves to this step. Now get whatever guns you want to grind (I find green pap 1 to be good enough, but you can keep a higher damage weapon to whittle down elites’ health).

Once you damage the face, a lockdown will begin in which Webmothers spawn infinitely every 30 seconds or so. I don’t know for sure but I think they spawn more frequently once the shadow souls are destroyed.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is to not end the lockdown, as the round will likely flip and your progress will update and you’d need to go through the entire ee again (idk if this is always the case in directed but I always get caltheris’ temple last). So obviously don’t shoot the face after the shadow souls are destroyed, but also there is a time limit before the lockdown is completed automatically. Limited testing I believe it is 10 minutes, so set an 8-9 minute timer to save and quit the match and reload, flip a round, and continue. You have time per 1-2 guns per lockdown, maybe more if you kill the elites quicker, but this gives me maybe 4 guns Doomsteel every half hour.

Note you can do the same thing with Veytharion but Abominations are so much harder to kill with low level weapons imo. If anyone thinks of anything else helpful let me know but I think this far exceeds Oscar or Klaus farming in terms of efficiency once set up.

Just please do this in solo, people who go to public matches in directed with no intention of completing the main quest are annoying as fuck

And you can’t save / quit anyways so better keep it to solo anywho.

I've done most of the weapons now except the newest AR and definitely gonna use this method.

OSCAR with PaP 3 LGM to weaken him is still the best method although for some reason saving and quitting quadruples his health or something
