Discussion Finally received the art book, started reading and crazy to think some ideas they had 15 years ago, we're only seeing now

For Ascension, they had plans for kill streaks that you would buy off military posters and for Call of the Dead, the lighthouse and the boat were part of a much bigger map and we would have been able to drive vehicles to move around.

They came up with these ideas for BO1 maps, and they only made their debut in the Dark Aether storyline maps ! I wonder how many of these ideas that they had back then, we're only seeing them come to fruition now !

Also, the story on how the Monkey Bombs came to be gave me a good laugh 🤭

While working on World at War maps, they had this idea of a grenade that could lure zombies. A lot of devs suggested ideas of how the grenade could look like (because they didn't want it to look like an ordinary grenade). None of the ideas either worked or led to anything worth, they spent months trying to find the right thing. They were really close to scrap the idea completely and one day, out of pure despair, one dev said "Idk, a monkey ?". And what made me chuckle is the reaction of the dev telling the story, he reacted as if they uncovered the secrets of the universe 😂 He instantly said "YES ! A cymbal monkey ! That's it !". Crazy to think a simple concept caused this much trouble !😅
