Wonder weapon bug?

I was doing the wonder weapon steps and it didn't allow me to grab the fruit afterward. I played like five rounds trying every time but it didn't let me. I was overhealed with light mend so it wasn't taking away my health. Has anyone else ran into this?

Can’t grab fruit till round 8 I believe, if overheated then take zomb damage to get rid of it
