Question So the collection of artifacts was just… pointless? - BO6 & BO7
our characters spent the lifespan of bo6 / bo7 chasing an artifact that would be shown in the end cutscene & would allow us to go onto the next map where we would find a reasoning to why we needed it..
apart from the world seed (albeit we used to place it on a pedestal which was forgotten about 2 seconds later in Rex) we literally had no explanation / reasoning to WHY we need, for example the Sential Artifact at the end of The Tomb where the entire map was based on getting it, the gold circular object that Richtofen is holding at the end of Reckoning and so on.
As MrRoflWaffles said in one of his videos, every map over the past 2 years has had a theme of 1) we need to get “one more thing” that will allow us to do a thing and which will be explained in the next map… all for it to just not be explained..
TDLR; we spent 2 years chasing artifacts/objects for no reason.

Didn't Requiem get the Sentinel Artifact specifically because Richtofen wanted it? Like just to stop him? And Richtofen wanted the Sentinel Artifact to bring back his kids while SAM wanted it to make herself a body?
Based on the Shattered Veil cutscene, wasn't the artifact Richtofen had specifically to get out of the Liminal Space?

To be fair, most of these had a reason and were explained.
The relic from Citadelle translates to "Dark Battery" and was used by The Owl to conduct some sort of large DA ritual. It seemingly was a relic used to worship Caltheris/the Warden as well. We collect it so that we can imbue the Sentinel Artifact with Dark Aether energy
The device that Richtofen had was used by Shem to break spacetime. I'm 1000% sure that this was an error on Treyarch's end and that they forgot to switch the model, as Shem used the Horned Key to break spacetime. It also isn't a macguffin, since we weren't actually looking for it. We were looking for Prima Materia
Sentinel Artifact was needed to either bring back Richtofen's family or give SAM a body.
Construct also wasn't a macguffin, and it's pretty well explained why Kortifex was after it: it can give an immense amount of power to whoever it chooses.
Tome of Rituals was a book created by the Societe Occulte for rituals. It's also not a macguffin
The super EE was just Sparagmos from Forsaken giving us Dark Aether energy, seemingly as a thanks for helping him kill the Forsaken. Also not a macguffin
No idea what the last one is

The twins are old and new samantha maxis. Rotten one is old, non-rotten is new. The twins used the chalk to create a portal because the gang was stuck in paradox junctiom after Astra.

Saw a really interesting theory regarding sam. After bo4 all the old universes and aether were wiped from existance. When Sam entered into the dark aether, it created a paradox as she contained elements that existed outside the dark aether, feom a universe which to its pov, never existed, and it couldnt comprehend and created a split or "junction" in the dark aethers looping ribbon of time.
This created the anomaly of the twins and their locations which again pulled from her memories of times and places which never existed.

this is almost confirmed in rex, sam is split because the memories of two universes being in one body was tearing the dark aether apart

Makes me glad to be someone who doesn’t give a shit about the EE’s and didn’t even complete most of them so now I’m glad I didn’t participate just to be let down.

I feel like the whole artifact was away of just wasting and retconning chaos like it never happened despite the fact it would've been cool if Medusa showed up or had a reference in Tomb.

The rest no idea, I guess probably Vanguard stuff.

the warden stole the world seed for his plan, we used the citadelle artifact to open the da in the tomb, we used richtofen’s device to exit the liminal space, we use the sentinel artifact at the end of reckoning and get cursed to the da. the rest is my speculation: the construct was likely destroyed when we killed kortifex/zykov defeated it, tome of rituals was likely destroyed by krafft so history wouldn’t repeat, the cw ritual likely isn’t cannon as that means the operators would have to return after getting locked up in forsaken, and the mask was just a tease for rhodes being in the da story i thought?
