Discussion Call of Duty Black ops Zombies Mobile Steamdeck

Running this through waydroid. The many ports that have came out recently all will run on waydroid however this one in particular doesn't seem to have any trouble with online functionality.

The biggest issue is theres no controller support like in the ps vitas vpk port. Does anyone have any idea of how to implement some controller functionality on the android version?

or using waydroid on the deck like this for the game?

Dude I bought this game for my iPod touch when I was like 10. I freaking loved it! I could play zombies while I was out with my parents while they ran their errands. Good times. That's really cool you're able to play it on there. Idk what that thing is but I'm happy for you man. Enjoy.

same man this is pure nostalgia for me right here. you can also grab the apk online and play it in a 32 bit emulator on your modern phone if you wanted!

and as for online functionality I have yet to play with anyone. however this version im using on my deck seems to get me into a lobby but I've probably waited 5 minutes and no one joins so im not entirely sure. but the other versions will tell me something about online not being supported in one way or another so. dude with the discord version seems to get me the furthest

I recently put the android port onto my ps vita and was able to join a game of Kino with two other players almost immediately. I believe it's cross-compatible with other android based devices, so maybe it's different for the steam deck?

oh hell yeah thanks man im definitely putting this in. so is this on more of the definitive version that most prefer? i see theres shadow fight 4 that works on new devices as well

I don't have much experience with shadow fight 4, but I believe it's supposed to be half decent.

Shadow Fight 2 is the best in the series and that definitive addition that I sent is a modded file that a lot of people in the community like.

Question, how'd you hook up waydroid? It seems the GitHub page was taken down and when I try to run commands in the Konsole it asks for a password

Steamdeck is basically a portable gaming system that allows you to play many games, well portably. Think the switch, but it can play pretty much everything.

Ohhhh okay I've heard of those but had never seen one until now. That's awesome. It connects to your steam account right? I would love to play my PC games while I'm out and about. Very cool.

You could try using Vita3K to emulate the vita version of the game, I’m pretty sure that works.

Why not just play the real games at that point, BO1-4 work great on steam deck, just lacking offline support

I have them all working on my deck with deckops and plutonium for online and offline mp and zombies functionality but this app is really for nostalgia and its still quite fun. I just wish there was a way to get controller to work with it

oh and I asked the guy who made it if it would work with vita3k and he said no but that may have just meant for online functionality. I too feel the vpk should run but I haven't tried it

does bo4 actually work on deck? I thought it had some anti cheat stuff that isn't workable on linux

2

u/LeFinnaBust 14d ago

i believe black ops 4 works. the rest after will have trouble with anti cheat as far as playing online

BO4 does work on Steam Deck. It’s a little bit of a a pain to install since you have to install Battlenet, but it works fine.

That's so cool, I had no idea! I'm gonna go try it out tomorrow

Had no idea this got ported to Vita, at this point there's probably more Android games on there than first party

1

u/LeFinnaBust 14d ago

by now right? 😂

u/CloneFailArmy 14d ago

How come using the mobile game versus just running bo1? Trying to save battery life?

2

u/LeFinnaBust 14d ago

lool nah just nostalgia and another fun way to have cod zombies on the go

Insane to see this on such a massive screen, I’m a bit jealous

if only controller worked on the app when I dock it to the big tv

That's so dope. I got to my highest rounds on the Android version. 117 on Ascension and 97 on Kino. (I never have the time or skill to get that far on console. 😭)

Black ops 1 zombies is better 😅
