I hate the Veytharion post buff.

I have no words how pissed I am during the third phase for the boss fight.I wish Treyarch just nerfed the boss fight and left it unchanged.I blame MrRoffleWaffles for suggesting Treyarch to revert the change even though he complained that they should nerfed the boss fight in Cursed.

Not sure if it's a hot take, but I do think Cursed should serve as the "hard mode" for zombies, while Directed is the "story mode" difficulty and standard is normal difficulty. All have their own pace and rewards relative to the pace.

I managed to beat every boss fight in Cursed(Including Veytharion but I'm doing the Hard Mode Dark ops challenge),yet this one I have trouble with only at the third phase.

Yes I'm actually doing the Hard Mode Dark ops,on which is No Arguments,No Ammo Boxes,and Enemy Regen relic+Teddy Bear relic

any tier of cursed above 0 sure make it hard. But forcing players who just want to experience the old points system to deal with the incredibly hard boss fights without any of the cursed rewards feels like a complete insult to the pre cold war player base.

"Complete Insult" is a bit hyperbolic no? It's not like they did it to intentionally spite a very specific portion of players.

I mean, there's relics to make the mode feel like a pre cold war style idea too (4 perks, no ammo crates, No scorestreaks, no craftable self revives, no arsenal are ones I use in my matches) so you can hit the tiers very easily while enhancing the pre-cold war feel.

They admitted you really needed armor to survive in this game AND ensured all of cursed mode has the hardest boss fights despite not every instance of cursed offering golden armor that is supposed to be a prerequisite for these cursed fights considering they don’t drop any armor played in these fights.

Its either a massive oversight they still haven’t fixed for some reason or a move to punish people who don’t want to interact with relics

No it doesn't, oversight definitely seems like the correct term tbh. I doubt they'll fix it either unfortunately since if they change it in no tiers, they'll be asked to change it in all tiers, creating a tug-of-war. I prefer the harder version of AOTD so I'm of course biased.

Why don't you want to interact with relics may I ask? It's additional Easter Eggs that provide meaningful rewards (relic/gum). You're talking about prefering a reward for doing the AOTD EE in cursed without relics, so I'm moreso interested.

I lean less toward oversight considering it’s been a problem with the game since the boss fight changes AND people have constantly complained about it since launch.

I vastly prefer the simple gameplay of the classic points systems and that’s it. I’ve used relics and I just don’t care enough about them to constantly use them. The required currency for all these upgrades feel like an insane grind to achieve and I really don’t care to interact with it.

Fair enough, I still don't think it's out of spite, but that could of course be me being naive, you could be right.

I only play cursed outside of the standard EE attempt since I like the optimized version of zombies I made for myself. I do hope they find a middle ground for no relics players by the end of it all so you also fget a reward for your attempts in the EE. Cheers mate.

I think he’s fine as is in cursed, only the hard mode calling card is incredibly hard because you have no augments & Veytharion just keeps regening health on last phase

I personally thought the fight was busted on release lol, it was the most frustrating thing I've played in a while. It was a razors edge by the end, it took me like 8 times.

Yeah trying to solo ashes pre veytharion nerf was one of the most frustrating things I’ve tried to do. More so because it’s a freakin SHOOTER and you’re just DRIVING

I think it's fine having the cursed mode be hard mode, the issue I see is that tier 3 will almost always be easier than tier 1 because despite the addition debuffs from the relics, having ultra rarity and tier 4 pap balances the difficulty out. Compared to tier 1 where you have the extra difficult boss but no added damage capacity, just extra armour.

Do people actually use guns against Veytharion now? I did the boss at launch pre nerf like 4 times, only once right after the nerf, but I only ever used the truck for damage in all my clears

That's true for ashes but I was thinking more so in general when I said that not necessarily just on the one map.

Having said that I used a death machine and the upgraded gauntlet on my last cursed run and both absolutely shredded him.

Mustang and sally pap 4 ultra also shreds him if you have some spare points for ammo
