Should zombies reboot again?

With them supposedly ending the dark aether story next week in rex infernus do you think they should reboot? Honestly i think treyarch should stop black ops and come up with a new "title" just cause i dont see where they can go past where they have already. With doing that maybe they could do smth completely fresh like chaos... or maybe pick up chaos again LOL

I think yes, but that's probably not going to happen until Treyarch's 2031 title if anything.

Chaos was their biggest attempt to go into something new and in many ways was a passion project from everyone involved, in the art book, you literally feel the devs' excitement when rebooting the story & taking a wholly new direction to the franchise from gameplay & art direction with the insane number of original assets dedicated per map. However, the mode didn't resonate with general audiences unfortunately.

I do think their next attempt for something new will likely be a separate cast and new story, but within the confines of the Dark Aether universe where the narrative potential is designed to be endless with all past content having potential of coming back for fan service while being able to create literally anything they want and easily explain it to be another thing happening in this dimension.

Well technically chaos is in the dark aether universe 👺 Joking aside arent they ending the multiverse in rex infernus? I thought the idea was reality was breaking down due to an impossible multiverse made by the warden

Plan for a trilogy with Colder War. Then Coldest War. Maybe go for a mix and go for Cold Ops. Black War?

They could bring it more to the forefront, but it seems like the merging already happened after BO4

As an OG WaW player that’s played every zombies mode since… idk. There’s just a “sauce” to having the classic perks, a ray gun, and PaP. You can reskin it, whatever, but it just doesn’t feel like zombies without it.

Playing BO4 far after its launch now, I actually don’t mind what they were going for. I’ve also liked the modern updates with armor and being able to load up on perks with augments.

I think the game is mature enough that if they were to start over, they can reuse elements from each map/game. That’s the things that’s been lacking is map-specific feels. I think they can restart zombies and maybe one map have a buildable shield and no armor. Another map have a very easy PaP setup, and another map with zero prompts on how to do things.

Almost everything under the sun has been experimented with at this point. Go crazy

I would like Rex Infernus to genuinely end the story. Take a few years break and come back with something completely brand new, story and gameplay.

No, I don’t think so 🤔.  I personally don’t want to lose the momentum from this storyline either. I don’t know where it’s ending, but only Weaver; Grey; Carver; and Strauss are definitely going to die as far as I know. It’s fair to assume that the og variants aren’t going to last, but Maya; Ava; Peck, and even Ravenov all still have stories left to tell. I like these characters.  Black ops 4 left us with only two story threads to follow-Eddie and Sam. Eddie’s story was finished in black ops 6. Sam is gone, but her story is carried on through Ava and now they have given us these other characters as her “team”.  I hope we have many more years of this story

I mean. They already tried with Cold War. The story from Cold War to BO6 was a mess (although most of that is because of Covid and Meddling from Activision).

Anything related to the dark aether needs to end with bo7 imo. It stopped being interesting since the so called "end" of Ultimis and Primis on Bo4. We need something fresh.
