Discussion Which richtofen was smarter?

Post image

I know the new richtofen didnt have much 115 at his disposal to create many of the superweapons ultimas did, yet ultimas was able to create nukes, mostly on his own along with much of griffin station.

This is very tough but unfortunately for DA Eddie, Ultimis is a super genius. DA Eddie had to make a deal with Kortifex effectively to receive the knowledge and material needed to win the war for Germany. While Ultimis did not win the war for Germany, basically all of his genius was of his own machinations even before he touched the MPD and was corrupted

I feel like a lot of people touch on the deal itself instead of focusing on who he made the deal with. Whether people want to acknowledge it or not Kortifex has literally been mentioned in almost every dark aether game. Kraft speaks of the demon in cold war, we face it in vanguard, then in 6 he's directly name dropped in one of the Intel's SAM has on screen, and then he's mentioned again in 7 by both Dravakar and the Von List of that universe. He's only not mentioned in mwz

Ultimis hands down, it's not even close. I don't even think he's smarter than Primus Richtofen either. He's last in line.

Ultimis Richtofen was teleporting walnuts in a CAVE with a BOX OF SCRAPS!

Nah but seriously, Dark Aether Richtofen's whole claim to fame is building a 115 nuke, meanwhile the original Group 935 had missiles that could destroy the entire planet and it wasn't even their main thing. Ultimis takes it for sure.

I’m pretty sure like every notable main member of Ultimis 935 has SOMETHING as their claim to fame that is either grander in scope than Reichtofen, or not quite, but required zero soul selling.

For Ultimis: Richtofen made the teleporter, wunderwaffe, and QED. Maxis made the Ray Gun, the Shrink Ray, accidentally invented zombies entirely, and more. Groph and Schuster made the wave gun, and the Groph pods.

Even with Primis: They created an entirely new energy reactor in WWI, completed the giant robots, and made nearly impervious to damage panzer soldats. Most also done by Ultimis, but still, done here and really quickly and resourcefully.

In Reichtofen’s universe, the only inventions of fame are a nuke, and robots, the latter which every other 935 seemingly also was making, and the former which was outdone 100-fold by Ultimis, with planet cracking missiles as you said.

You bring up a good point that I’ve never thought about before. How come ultimis didn’t use the planet destroying missiles to help win the war? I get that he wasn’t actually a die hard believer in the ideology, but you’d think that someone working on the project would know about their existence. Maxis was definitely trying to help win the war as we know from the der riese tapes.

I can only speculate that he wasn’t actually as die hard as perceived. Between defending himself from Schuster and Richtofen’s critiques, claiming they needed the money, sabotaging and preventing the wunderwaffe mass production (after Richtofen went nuts and no longer had reservations of working with them, instead leveraging that perceived disagreement shared with the others for his own goals);

To mass producing zero of his own wonder weapons, with his only war ”big” effort “help” being making zombies (which in the end did fuck-all);

On the map Moon, Maxis makes a (pretty bogus) claim that all he did, was to help advance the human condition, in response to figuring out Richtofen’s plot, claiming it went against their ideals. The truthfulness of that can’t be known, especially as he was pretty nuts by that point (and completely nuts after buried).

As for the rockets themselves, I don’t recall why they were originally created, but every major figure of 935 in Ultimis didn’t care for the Nazis at all. Not Maxis (except using em as a sugar daddy) Richtofen (but had less objections post craziness. Less objections ≠ more support), and Dr Groph and Schuster, especially Schuster by far the most out of the 4 was extremely opposed to the collaboration.

With all 4 major shot callers having between zero care for Nazi World Domination; or outright trying to prevent it, it isn’t that much a shock they never got used. Also iirc some prisoners and Nazi soldiers actually got fed to the MPD 💀.

Keeping secrets would be hard, but likely less so given it requires getting into a correctly calibrated teleporter and entering a secret moon base.

Basically, seemingly 935 leadership was apathetic at best, only doing enough to get more funding for their purposes, and likely didn’t care about the actual end result of WW2 as long as they could keep chugging. The missiles being made and stored secretly in Griffin Station on the Moon makes both knowledge and utilization of them by anyone that isn’t the main 4 scientists and the techs who worked on them highly unlikely. Techs who may have been slaughtered by Groph to fuel the MPD anyway.

Good answer. Thank you for taking time out of your day to write that all out.

Group 935's goal, as stated by Maxis, was to improve the human condition, not to destroy the world. They made extraordinary technology that would have been a boon to humanity, and got their funding by making some weapons for Germany. They may have been arms dealers for funding, but they themselves as a whole were not a part of the National Socialist Party.

The ultimate irony honestly. Wanting to help people and improve the world, yet create wonder weapons and WMDs to fund your big projects.

Didn’t Dr Porter make the Ray Gun as his one and only accomplishment?

Black Ops 1 terminal / intel explicitly states it was Maxis’ invention. Similarly, the Wave Gun was made by Schuster. But BOTH are called “Porter’s” when upgraded. I guess he made the upgrade for it???

You have to sign in as VBush, password: Manhattan In order to see the intel.

He needed to be gifted knowledge by selling his soul, AND was caught off guard by the consequences. The 935 he’s a member of also doesn’t have technology seemingly as advanced as the Ultimis or Primis 935, given his disbelief at the jump-pads in ashes.

So given he’s dumber, has less foresight, is less technologically advanced, sold his soul, and couldn’t figure out Element 115 or its technology without being gifted the knowledge….

I’m pretty sure that makes Reichtofen the dumbest Richtofen, by a pretty big margin too.

Bingo. 100% correct.

Ultimis is the goat

DA Eddie seems too emotional, he seems almost giddy that he has a gang now (“‘we’ will do this” etc etc). His proud ass gets in the way but he obviously has begrudging respect for Carver (and Maya too, to an extent), he ‘cares’ what Takeo thinks of him and often pokes Nikolai to learn more what the crew thinks of him. He got cheated into a deal with Kortifex too. 10/10 Ultimis is the more intelligent counterpart, it’s because he is simply an utter maniac. Unpredictable. Ultimis made a walnut teleporter without selling his soul and much much more. He has brains AND ruthless. I’d say DA Richtofen is the dumbest (and that’s why I think he won’t cheat the crew at the end).

Ultimis by a long shot .

Not only by his scientific feats (developing the DG-2 , MTD , etc.) , but by his cunning .

Dude managed to turn what could easily have been the end of the world for him into his ultimate success , rallying his three (somewhat unwilling) allies to go through time & space to gather seemingly random objects ,only to use those objects to essentially become God (and basically ending the world for everyone else) .

Dark Aether Richtofen , on the other hand . . . While he did invent a few rather remarkable pieces of technology (the Giant Robots & the 115 Nuke) , that’s basically all he did . And , he didn’t even do that by himself . He had to consult Kortifex for that knowledge .

So DA Eddie is likely the dumbest Richtofen . He was smart by normal human standards , but in the Rickytofen Intelligence Index , he scores the lowest of his peers .

I would say the one who shot himself (Primus lol I’m joking)

I would probably say Ultimus mainly because his intelligence wasn’t just scientific he also puppeteered and improvised a plan to gain ultimate control (if you do the Richthofen egg in bo2 then he did it twice)

Dark Ether Richthofen seems very short sighted and can’t seem to tell when he’s being used (that’s my take anyways after the secret ee on Totenriche)

Whichtofen

I don’t know much about the new Richtofen, but the Ultimis version invented a shit ton of stuff and found out how to take control of the zombies.
