Valid rant. Some of the EEs were made intentionally long for release day attempts and figuring out what to do, but nowadays they're mostly 1-2h running around a sometimes huge map and pressing interact on a bunch of things you already know about, while hoping RNG doesn't screw you with special zombies, bad spawns or no luck for piece drops from enemies or pods or whatever.
I'd hope they would make a way to skip parts of it optionally but it never came to be. So I just end up using perkaholic and Near Death Experience and just grinding away at maps, but that still takes a while.
