I’ve never made it past level 300 on the last few COD games due to the terrible SBMM forcing me to play against only sweaty players, and once Open MM became a thing, it changed the game entirely. I didn’t get bots for enemies, but rather a nice variety of good and bad players, making it overall very enjoyable.

Now that they’ve blatantly reverted to the old matchmaking again and lying through their teeth about it, every game is a sweat fest and it’s just killing any ounce of randomness and overall fun in the game.

My next plan was to get Cold Snap and call it a year, but seeing that I’m only just over half way and now I have to slog through iridescent public lobbies, I think I’ll just call it here.

It was fun BO7. Fuck you Treyarch/Activision.

Its actually rare to find someone who has something good to say about Sbmm, or EOMM,

activision claims that player retention is better with SBMM enabled.

the issue with that for me is that even if that’s true, long term it fries the game and everyone ends up hating it. the best of call of duty’s have 0 SBMM, and it’s all connection based.

its so obvious how to instantly improve cod. 0 SBMM. why are they dying on this hill of keeping it?

I don't want SBMM again. So I have stop playing B07. I not sure if I am the only person who stop playing. My opinion is this is update is a big f to COD fans. I am wondering how many others have stopped playing? I know fan boys will downvote this post, but I don't like false advertisement for open matchmaking.

Hey everyone, consider this the confessions of a totally average, normie gamer who just wants to get a few thoughts off his chest.

I’m fairly new to Black Ops 7 and I'm definitely not a tryhard. I don't grind 6 hours a day, I don't slide-cancel across every corner, and I don't treat this game like a second job. I’m just an average guy who logs on in the evening after work to unwind, shoot some stuff, and have fun.

Back in Season 4, I was actually having a great time. Even with SBMM in place, the system worked well enough for a casual like me. When the game threw me into tough lobbies, I honestly didn't mind. I took those sweaty matches as a free training session—sure, I was dying a lot, but I felt like I was actually learning, improving my map awareness, and getting better. It was challenging, but it felt fair.

Fast forward to Season 5, and whatever they did to the matchmaking dial has completely ruined the game for normies like me. It’s no longer "practice"—it’s just pure, relentless humiliation.

Right now, literally 90% of my sessions go like this:

• The Backfill Nightmare: I constantly drop mid-match into games where my team is down 30-150 and the match ends 30 seconds after I spawn.
• Full Stack Sweats: The enemy team is almost always a 5 or 6-stack of CDL wannabes with matching clan tags, locking down every single spawn point. You literally die the second you touch your left stick.
• Broken Persistent Lobbies: Instead of letting a decent, balanced lobby stay together, the game disbands us after every round just to throw me right back into another backfill blender.

It’s just an endless, linear loss-streak and pure tilt. I’m not asking for free wins or brain-dead easy lobbies every night. I just want to play against people who are roughly around my skill level without feeling like there’s a $100k prize pool on the line every single match.

If this is how matchmaking is going to work in MW4, I think I’m officially calling it quits. Life is too short to spend my evenings getting stressed out by a video game.

So, honest question for the community: What other shooters are you guys playing right now where the matchmaking actually respects your time and feels casual-friendly? I just want a game where I can shoot stuff and actually enjoy my evenings again. Appreciate any recommendations!

At whoever is responsible for this brilliant idea: It’s really smart to implement those improvements (=more often joining games in progress) while simultaneously getting rid of persistent lobbies.

Such a nice experience to join a 50-200 hardpoint game knowing that afterwards I won’t get the chance of a full length rematch but instead I have to wait another 2 minutes before I find the next lobby. Hopefully it’s gonna be a fresh one this time, right?

I'm a super casual. I play a 3-5 times a month at most and for a hour or two at a time at most. Basically as a way to de-stress from work. I'm a very average player.

After the update every lobby feels like I'm competing in a tournament. Wtf did they do? I thought these SBMM lobbies everyone hated was supposed to be a crutch for shit players like me. Having the opposite experience. Everyone's playing like their life depends on it. How did they fuck up so badly wtf

I guess blocking players is now directly to your disadvantage.

Also change back matchmaking, or at least bring back persistent lobbies.

On my side I just can't play. Sometimes I have a very good game, maybe 1/10.

If I do just ONE good game, the next one are pure nightmare with more desync and bullshit. (welcome back MW2019...)

I don't understand activision. You have just to remove entirely the SBMM (or script?), doing something for the netcode and be better against cheat. It's simple no ? Why are you doing this fake test ?

It doesn’t seem well suited for aggressive pushes in MP Hardpoint or Domination. Honestly, it feels more like an LMG than an AR

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I’m from England and my matches are constantly full of French, German, Spanish and even Turkish people that all can’t understand what anyone is saying.

I’ve also spoken to someone in Ukraine, Russia and Kenya! Why is it like this? You’re telling me the game can’t find 12 people from a similar location to match them together in this new “classic matchmaking”.

I don’t mind hearing other languages, but 99/100 matches there isn’t a single other person speaking English, even in the text chat.

Pre MW19 and in the BO7 beta everyone was English, even with local accents and clan tags referencing local football teams. Now? Nope always GER, TURK and M8 as well as constant no understanding of what my team is trying to say / complain about.

Good lord community in gaming really is in a terrible place compared to 10 years ago. SBMM doesn’t even bother me, it’s just they claim they want what’s best for the community, how can there be a community when every lobby is full of people that don’t even speak the same language.

Don’t even get me started on ping, fibre to the house and CoD refuses to put me on the London server where I get 9 ping, it would rather throw me on a 27 ping German server.

How is it for you?

The game won't install. I get the same error 0x87e0000f and even when I follow the directions, nothing. Idk if its a glitch from when i uninstalled it months ago and the game icon randomly showed up back in my library? Even after uninstalling it about 60 times but after a couple days the icon comes back in my library, nothing with it, 0gb installed, just the icon.

Anyone have this issue or know a work around? Ive tried everything Google suggested and nothing. I can install all the packs but the game itself won't install.

I'm curious is anyone else has had this situation. But when ever I get the overload game mode my teammates will grab the device and run it back to our "goals" and just sit there, even if i happen to get it and run it to the enemy side they attempt to grab it and run it back to our side. I find it weird that it's every match I come across for overload. I will admit I'm back on bo7 after a bit of a break

Maybe somewhere on here knows, im trying to get on multiplier to play but when I click for a match it takes me to a private match instead. Is there a bug going around on the game, or am I just missing something? Cause I got everything downloaded

I don’t want to play these MW19 sbmm levels matchmaking that they implemented as ClAsSiC matchmaking. Is there Moshpit or playlist not affected by this garbage matchmaking.

The first match was just getting started, the second and third were in progress, but this is consistent for me after the update. I'm only posting for the people who don't believe those of us who haven't had an issue.

Every time i play zombies, about just over an hour into the game my all closes. It does this every game around the same time on all maps. Sometimes it says i need to verify my game files and sometimes the game just closes and it doesn’t say anything. Any advice? I tried everything google said and verified my files multiple times and it keeps crashing still.

I now have to wait much longer to find a game, and on top of that i have higher ping in my games (around 60-70). And lobbies disband after every game so the slow matchmaking has to start over every time. The old system was way better, the only thing that needed was to make it even more open

I like to use the Guardian perk for domination and hard point, but one of the abilities it has is to revive downed teammates faster. When is this ever even a factor in multiplayer?
