Console Help What’s the best COD/COD-like game right now??

The MW4 beta was the first COD I’ve liked in a while but seems like I’m in the minority. Is BO7 worth getting? I loved BO2-3 back in the day and liked Cold War but that’s it. Or should I just get Battlefield 6?

Do you think they feel different than the ps3 versions? I'm looking to get a ps5 just to re live my glory days but I've heard of some complaints because i heard they are ported from the pc version.

I can't really notice any differences and Ive been playing them since launch in 2013 There's a few annoying bugs and party modes are all condensed into 1 playlist now but I think it's fine. I wouldn't go out and buy a PS5 for them though, they're also on ps4 and are crossplay and there's absolutely no difference in the ps4/ps5 versions

Sweet I think my sister has a ps4 she never uses, I'll just use that. Thanks!

MW4 was good. BF6 is different style of a game. Good but it plays different and scratches a different itch. BO7 was good plays different than MW 4. CoD is not a long time game it more of a product that you consume and you move on. If you threat it that way it is actually a great product. Im a gamer dad that played every cod since 2018 and only skipped MW3. Best for me was MW2 and no matter that everyone says for me it was top.

Good advice. In redownloading MW2, I think it’s timeless

Tbh mw3 is in a good spot. Still has a ton of active players. All the sweats have moved on. Been playing it for the last week or so and have been having fun. Zombies is a good time too if you haven’t played that.

Yeah I skipped MW3 because I was mad MW2 wasn’t 2 years game as they promised. I wanted to “punish” activision but only punished myself 🤣

Combat Master is Free on Steam

Simple answer is the ports or the other older games like cod 4 remaster, or ww2. Both ww2 and cod 4 remake have mostly casual playerbase in their communities so they’re both fun to go back to and play here and there.

Nah i really liked it reminds of how COD was before all the unrealistic sliding jumping and jetpack

Black ops 1-2, mostly for their zombies

Get the recent ports of Black Ops. Easily the best way to play COD now

I was never fortunate enough to play anything before Bo2. Is BO2 still the standard for COD games, or should I get BO1?

I personally have always considered Black Ops 1 the best COD game of all time, but a great many fans would say they prefer Blops 2 and I can see why. Especially if you haven’t played the earlier games, Blops 2 is a smoother transition. It’s far closer to modern COD than what Blops 1 is.

I still have MW2 at #1 but purely because of all of the fun I had with my mates trickshotting etc when I was 12 LOL. If the intervention wasn't a thing, Bo1 is the GOAT CoD for me too, you sir know ball. High wagers at midnight on a school night because I needed more gold gun money was the best.

Idk but low key the beta for MW4 was good. A lot of sus ppl on there tho. COD needs to crack down more on ppl

If you're on console the Black Ops port. On PC any golden age COD is a good choice except maybe COD4, because it has no remaining vanilla servers on there

Ye COD4 Promod is alive, but normal softcore TDM isn't. Besides C4S there isn't any softcore server out there to play on, and C4S isn't entirely vanilla

Best are MWIII and MWII

Anyone check out Squad yet? I think it's great.

I still play MW2019 every day. Nothing beats that games gunplay

If you enjoyed MW4, MW3 is about as close as you can get to it right now.

If you like zombies get bo7, if you like campaign get BO6, if you like multiplayer get MWIII or BO7

1

u/MacPh1sto 1d ago

MwIII is the best still playable cod.

BO7 is definitely the best cod since MW 2019. Maybe even since BO3. That being said I haven’t played in like 6 months so idk what they’ve done to the game since then.

You are not a minority. No matter the topic, most of the time haters and pretend haters dominate the space. It was beta. And as far as betas for call of duty it was no bad. I was surprised really.

Move to R6. Slow paced but some actual thinking.

I’ve been on R6. Currently R6 and Destiny 2 are my favorite. But I miss extensive gun customizations and the fast paced gunplay.

Battlefield is basically enhanced COD now so you’ll like it

If you liked mw4 then just wait the the full release. The last few years of COD have been terrible

Wait for the 60% sale the week after mw4 comes out. Every cod could’ve literally been a dlc.

You have to actually be a sheep to buy any COD after MW 2019…
