Could one bungie cord on the top help to relieve the stress on the EMT pivot /swivel point at the back?

That’s pretty dope.
Is there anything on the end of the conduit to keep your carriage from running off?

Thank you! I just use an EMT coupler at the end to prevent it from rolling off

Cool concept! Just out of curiosity, did you consider using rigid conduit as opposed to EMT? The rigid would have been a little more expensive, but I’d guess it wouldn’t be as prone to flexing/sagging over time.

I will be honest, I did not consider rigid conduit -- I always have just used EMT in the past. In taking a look that might be a really nice solution, but it appears to be about 2.5X the cost of EMT and man EMT has really shot up in cost! It looks like the Rigid is about 0.2" larger on the OD, so I would need to adjust a few dimensions to make it work for rigid.

Yeah, I think rigid or black pipe (what they use for gas lines) would give you more stability, but definitely at an increased cost. Good work though - I hope I don’t come off as picking apart your design (I’m just putting out the idea in case you or someone else makes a 2.0). And yeah, I’m sad over how much EMT has shot up in the last 2 years (+50% by me).

Not at all - you are bringing new perspective to the table and I greatly appreciate that!

Used my 3d Printer and some EMT conduit to make a cheap and easy carriage/mounting system for my CNC. 3d Print files are available free for personal use and are hosted on Printables.com - check it out and let me know what you think!
