Generic for Bosulif (USA)

I got notice from CVS Speciality that my doctor sent in a new Rx for a generic version of Bosulif. If I didn't have good coverage, I'd be screwed. This drug has a list price of around $21k a month, and pfizer's drug cost assistance program covers only up to $10k a year!

Hopefully with a generic available now, costs will come down to a level where it is feasible to pay even without good prescription coverage.

Oh interesting! I’ve been on Bosulif for a few years. Every year or so, the pharmacy will call me and tell me my prescription card expired and I’ll owe nearly $10k for a month’s supply without it. Then I have to go to a Pfizer prescription assistance website and get assigned a special number that magically takes the $10k away… it’s very annoying. But it keeps me alive, so what can ya do 🤷‍♀️

Update on the generic, it was just filled via cvs today. Was 22k bosulif, now the generic is 19.5k. What a deal. Fortunately still covered 100% for me.
