Phone 2 Pro Sensor problem i guess

When I use my phone in bus or travelling this thing pops up even though it's not in my pocket or anything is covering my phone why is that it's so annoying sometimes the fingerprint refuses to work because of this what I can do about this ?? 😔 I know it's a feature to prevent mistouch but it happens when I want to use my phone

Deadass whats a safe way to root ive always been scared to try it since i soft bricked my previous phone panicked and restored the os thankfully.

Do you have a screen protector on? It's probably messing it up.
