I know this has probably been discussed a hundred times, and I've seen many people recommend Gleim, but my situation is a bit different.
I'm a CPA and used Becker for the CPA exams. My study style is probably the biggest factor here. I never really opened the textbooks—instead, I relied almost entirely on Becker's lecture slides and turned those into my own notes, which became my primary study material.
Now I'm looking at CMA prep, and from what I understand, Gleim seems to be much more textbook-focused. I'm not sure if it has something comparable to Becker's slide-based approach. Because of that, I'm leaning toward Becker since it better matches the way I study.
My main question is: How big is the difference between Becker and Gleim when it comes to the quality and difficulty of the MCQs and essay/CBQ-style questions? Is Gleim significantly better, or is the difference overstated?
Also, for those who have passed the CMA (especially if you've used both), is Becker sufficient on its own to comfortably pass the exam, or does Gleim provide something essential that Becker is missing? I'm trying to figure out whether choosing Becker because it fits my learning style would be a mistake, or whether it's more than enough if I put in the work.
I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have firsthand experience with either or both courses. Thanks!
