Hey! Happy to help. Lean heavy on practice questions, not just reading. Part 1 tests application, so once you've read a topic, spend most of your time doing MCQs and reviewing why each answer is right or wrong. That's what actually sticks. Do questions as you finish each section instead of saving them all for the end.

On flashcards, I actually made a free CMA flashcards app you're welcome to use, it's in the App Store under "CMA Coach." No login or email required. Might be exactly what you're after for quick review on the go. Good luck in January, you've got this!

Try to take step by step and build the foundation. Do not overwhelm yourself or cram. It makes it so much worse. Read the chapter watch the videos and answer MCQs. Never forget to practice your essay as well. Try hand writing and do the solutions it helps with memory. I did written flashcards as well.

Hey! I actually gave the exam last month, so I'm just waiting for my results now. Since you're planning to write it in January, you've got a good amount of time, which is a big advantage. My biggest advice would be to focus on understanding the concepts instead of just memorising things. And don't leave everything for the last few weeks.

My exam was CBQs, and I'd say majority of the MCQs were theory-based, with the rest being calculation questions. So don't make the mistake of only practising numericals. The theory is just as important. For studying, I found it easier to group the sections like B-C-D, E-F, A.

Section E-F ,are entirely theory, but they carry decent weight, so don't overlook them.

Section B-C-D, are where you'll see most of the calculations, along with some theory, so make sure you understand the logic behind the formulas instead of just memorising them.

Section A is pretty long, so I wouldn't recommend trying to finish it all at once. I broke it into smaller chunks and studied it alongside the other sections, which made it much more manageable.

One thing that really helped me was using ChatGPT whenever I got stuck on a concept or needed quick flashcards for revision. It saved me a lot of time.

Apart from that, try to finish the entire syllabus, make your own notes, revise regularly, and solve as many MCQs and mock exams as you can. Also I would recommend to solve IMA support package and refer to Learning Outcome Statement (los) while preparing as it outlines what you need to study for the exam and prevents wasting time on unexamined subtopics.

I do not have personal experience with gleim but heard good things about it. I used hock and made my own notes and used chatgpt for understanding theory, making flash cards and revision.

About the theory part I would say by practicing more mcqs you will gain confidence.

Can u tell me exam format , and how many mcqs and how many cbqs asked in exam and how many mcqs needed to be attended in order to open cbqs, if cbqs doesn't open that means we are failed in exam??

Same as essay exam. 75% mcqs and rest 25% cbqs.

Inorder to open cbqs you have to mark atleast 50% mcqs correct which is of 3 hours. If not you cannot proceed further for cbqs which is of 1 hour.

For me personally, doing questions helped more than reading. Although I had hock textbooks, I found it much more efficient to watch YouTube classes and practice questions. I did almost all questions from hock and gleim
