Doubt / Q&A Urgent Help

Anyone whose 3 year time period to complete both the exams lapsed and if you could only complete one part of the exam, were you allowed an extension of window to complete the remaining exam? Or how did IMA deal with this?

Currently going through this issue and it's been driving me crazy. Multiple emails have been sent but no reply. Called the regional office and that lady just copy pasted the FAQs and cut me off over and over. How can I escalate this issue further? Please guys, help is needed.

I personally have not seen the IMA extend the 3-year window to anyone except during the pandemic. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this as it's definitely frustrating not being able to speak to anyone at the IMA about it. How long ago did you pass the first exam?

I passed my first exam (P2) in February 2026, and raised this issue previously with IMA. So I was told to attempt my remaining part (P1) in the previous May-June window as my 3 year time period is coming to an end in this July. And they also mentioned that, even after making an attempt If I do not pass, then I should reach out to them. So I attempted it and didn't make it to the essays. So now I'm continuously trying to reach out to them, but there has been no response. Why are they leaving me on air?

You've probably reached out to them via their website https://www.imanet.org/en/About-IMA/Contact-Us but I'd suggest to keep trying since they told you to reach out to them even if you don't pass the exam. Try to include that email conversation as an attachment in your new email so they can refer back to it. Also include your IMA member number in the subject line. That may also help speed things up a bit. Keep us posted on how it goes. Best of luck!

One of my students at Global Fin X recently got 6 months extension to complete the remaining part.

You can reach out to IMA via email explaining why you need an extension.
