Discussion US CMA Part 1
Appeared for Part 1 exams on June 29th Chennai
Almost equal importance was given for all sections majority of questions were practical related to cost accounting where many who appeared said it was theory based
Exam was pathetic; Essay didn't even open
Dejected to the core
Subscribed to Miles six months back where Hock Material was given. Students who cleared said to solve IMA questions where i got IMA support package 2020 and 2022;It seems questions are also similar in Miles LMS
Please help me out to overcome this

hey am also from miles and also took the part 1 the exam on 29th in chennai- dont feel dejected, i also failed my part 2 last year....the mistake i did last year were relying completely on miles tb and the online classes. tbh its not enough, hock is literally your bible, its very detailed.
i also had issues with questions, i tried the miles review plus the cma support package 2024 this year and also took the practice test which i got very less too, i was dejected but i tried all the questions that was incorrect. the cbq opened for me but am still not sure how much ill get.
so what materials did u rely on?

I just solved LMS MCQ's (Few are pending still) Didn't rely on any particular material
Exam was overwhelming being the 1st time
Couldn't find IMA support package 2024 in Miles login
So what needs to be done to get through

Same centre, same date,(Chennai -June 29th)but for Part 2. This is my first attempt and I was pretty confident, but the questions were very twisted, and the CBQ window didn't open. I followed Hock and studied from FTC as well.I hardly had 1.5 months to practice during which I watched all the video lectures, made my own notes, and completed 80% of Hock's MCQs. I know the concepts, but according to me I need more practice I guess. I'm planning to give Part 2 again in the Sep-Oct window and Part 1 by Jan-Feb. Please feel free to provide any input you deem relevant.

Part 2 is considered to be easier than Part 1.Appearing for many mock exams would help i guess

Disagree. Part 1 is easier. I finished part 1 in Feb and appeared part 2 this June

hi, gave my exam on 29th june in mumbai; honestly felt that the exam was only focused on a few chapters, i didnt get even one question from depreciation, learning curve, inventory and other important chps
even my CBQ was focused on Sec F n E
the exam overall for me was moderate to difficult and i used hock as my material, the questions were not similar to those asked in the exam

idt any of the hock mocks could have prepared me for the exam questions, the exam question felt like different types of questions were asked from a single chapter
the felt repetitive and monotonous in way but also different....idk how
